摘要： A compact ammunition magazine of high storage density contains an endless ammunition conveyor running in a serpentine path. The conveyor includes a succession of units consisting of a pair of rigidly connected tubes that receive ammunition rounds in snug-fitting relation. The tube units are pivotally interconnected by links of a single conveyor chain that is driven by plural drive sprockets to index the tubes to a single magazine port through which uploading/downloading of ammunition rounds is conducted. Guide rollers, fitted on the tubes at positions laterally spaced from the conveyor chain, roll on horizontal tracks within the magazine to provide conveyor support and guidance.

In addition, the alloys possess good weldability, corrosion resistance, cryogenic properties, and elevated temperature properties. The alloys may comprise from about 1 to about 7 weight percent Cu, from about 0.1 to about 4 weight percent Li, from about 0.01 to about 4 weight percent Zn, from about 0.05 to about 3 weight percent Mg, from about 0.01 to about 2 weight percent Ag, from about 0.01 to about 2 weight percent grain refiner selected from Zr, Cr, Mn, Ti, Hf, V, Nb, B and TiB2, and the balance Al along with incidental impurities. Preferred alloys comprise from about 3.0 - 6.5 weight percent Cu, from about 0.5 - 2.6 weight percent Li, from about 0.05 - 2 weight percent Zn, from about 0.1 - 1.5 weight percent Mg, from about 0.05 - 1 weight percent Ag, from about 0.05 - 0.5 weight percent grain refiner, and the balance Al and incidental impurities. Additional elements selected from Ge, Sn, Cd, In, Be, Sr, Sc, Y, and Ca may be used in addition to, or in place of, Zn in the present alloys.

摘要： In a method for fabricating a printed circuit board on a doubly contoured or hemispherical substrate such as a radome, a coherent light source is used to form a plurality of elements of a predetermined pattern on the surface of the substrate. The coherent light source preferably includes an excimer laser. The substrate includes a bottom layer and a metallized layer which is covered by a photoresist coating. The first element of the pattern is formed by directly imaging the element in the photoresist coating. The substrate is then displaced relative to the coherent light source until all the elements of the predetermined pattern are formed in the photoresist coating over the entire surface of the substrate. After the pattern is complete and the photoresist is developed, an etching technique is used to remove portions of the metallized layer from the substrate.

摘要： A method for the introduction of in-situ precipitated second phase materials, such as ceramic or intermetallic particles in a metal matrix, to a host metal. When an initial solvent-assisted reaction is utilized, metal-second phase composites having highly superior properties may be obtained. The invention may utilize the reaction of the second phase-forming constituents in a solvent metal medium to provide an intermediate material of finely-dispersed second phase particles in an intermediate metal matrix, in the form of a porous mass or sponge. Any desired loading of second phase in the final composite may be achieved by the admixture of this preformed intermediate material having a relatively high content of particulate material, with a molten host metal. Exemplary materials include titanium diboride in an aluminum matrix and titanium carbide in an aluminum matrix.
