摘要： Slide in, hook on and lock blades (110) for ceiling fans having vibration and noise reduction through resilient members. A mount (140) attached to the motor can be bendable by a hinge (120) so a raised portion can receive a slot on the blade (110). The mount (140) has a post where a blade (1110) can be hooked. Folding the blade locks the blade substantially eliminating lateral and vertical movement of the blade and can also eliminate vibration and noise. A clip (460) can be used to lock the blade or eliminate lateral and/or vertical movements. An expandable and contracting clip can hold the blade and can be used with a post or posts, and can quickly allow the blade to be snapped into place. The invention allows centrifugal forces and/or the overall weight of the blades (by gravity) to hold the blades.

摘要： Captive fasteners (50,101,150,250) and alignment posts (310,330,340) for allowing ceiling fan blade arms (40) to be easily and safely mounted onto ceiling mounted motors (10). Fasteners (50) such as Philips head screws, regular head screws and bolts can be held captive in place on blade mounting arms with rubber grommet type washers (101). The grommet type washers have portions that can be sandwiched between the fastener head and the mounting arms and sandwiched between the mounting arms and rotating member on the ceiling fan motor in order to reduce vibration noise and movement. Alternatively, novel captive fasteners (150) having a thicker neck poriton between a threaded end and the head can be positioned within the grommet type washers. A second embodiment of the captive fastener (250) is floatingly supported within the mounting arm between the fastener head and a ledge within the mounting arm throughole, with an enlarged threaded end of the fastener on the opposite side of the ledge. A tip portion of these captive fasteners can remain extended from the upper surface of the mounting arm and is used to guide the fasteners to the mateable threaded openings on the bottom of the rotating member on the motor. A third embodiment incorporates at least one alignment post (310,330,340) and mateable receiving hole for allowing the mounting arm to be properly aligned with the correct position on the rotaring member. The alignment posts can be tapered, rounded or having flat sides such as squares and hexagons, to further position and hold the mounting arms to the rotating members on the motor. The alignment post(s) can be located on the upper surface of the mounting arms or extend downward from the rotating member of the motor. With the alignment posts either or both captive fasteners or regular fasteners such as bolts, regular head and Philips head screws can be used. Additionally, the alignment post(s) can be used without the grommet shaped washers. The alignment members and captive fasteners eliminate wobble effects by evenly attaching the mounting blade arm to the ceiling fan motor.

摘要： Ready to hang ceiling fans that do not require any assembly from the shipping box. A first embodiment has foldable mounting arms (140,240) for each of the fan blades so that an installer takes both the motor and pre-attached blades out of a shipping box and allows the folded arms to unfold when the ceiling fan is being mounted. Another embodiment has foldable blades (330) pre-attached to mounting arms that are attached to a motor housing. An installer simply takes both the motor and pre-attached folded blades out of a shipping box and allows the folded blades to unfold when the ceiling fan is being mounted. A still another embodiment combines both the foldable mounting arms (140,240) and blades (330) together. The shipping box (330) has no separate packaging for blade fasteners and reduces the packaging approximately forty percent over conventional ceiling fan shipping boxes. Blades also do not have to be removed from the motor when the ceiling fan is being taken down and repackaged.
