    • In a skid-steer vehicle having its wheels 11 on one side driven and controlled independently of those on the other side, two main hand levers 21 and 121 control the wheels and two subsidiary hand levers 22 and 122 mounted on the main levers control a bucket loader fitted on the vehicle. Power-operated loader booms 12 on either side of the operator constitute a safety hazard when he enters or leaves the vehicle. Restraint bars 27 and 127 which oblige the operator to immobilise both the wheels and the loader before he can leave the vehicle are pivotable on opposite sides of the vehicle between upwardly-extending positions permitting egress and entry, in which positions respective locking members 40 and 140 linked to the bars engage the subsidiary levers to hold both the subsidiary and main levers in their neutral positions, and laterally-inwardly-extending positions blocking egress, in which positions the locking members do not engage the subsidiary levers whereby the subsidiary and main levers are freely moveable.

    • In a loader bucket having a back member pivotable on a boom assembly which is pivotable on a tractor and a front member pivotable on the back member, power-operated means for effecting relative pivoting of the members have comprised two hydraulic piston-and-cylinder assemblies disposed at the respective ends of the bucket and fed from a common pressure line so as to work in unison. However, when gripping asymmetrical loads between the members the front member is distorted due to the pressure liquid taking the path of least resistance and thus permitting unequal extension of the piston-and-cylinder assemblies. This problem is minimised by employing a single , central hydraulic piston-and-cylinder assembly (31, 30) connected between a point (13) on the back member and a lug (28) fixed to a torsion bar (23) which interconnects the ends (21) of the front member along its pivot axis. The gripping of asymmetrical loads then twists the torsion bar (23) within its elastic limit.

    • A fully mounted variable width plow of the rollover type or not in which the tractor hitch links (8) are pivoted about generally vertical axes permitting the hitch limited movement in a horizontal plane, which will allow the adjusted plow to maintain correct alignment under the action of the soil. A forecarriage unit (7) is mounted on the rearward ends of the links in a manner such that slight pivotal movement about vertical axes is again permitted. An elongated plow beam (6) extends generally horizontally and inclines to the direction of forward travel and is pivotally attached to the forecarriage unit (7) about a generally vertical axis. A plurality of plow bottom assemblies are each pivotally attached by way of a support bracket (13) to the plow beam (16) and are equally spaced along the plow beam. An elongated coupling member (15) extends parallel to the plow beam and is pivotally connected to each of the support brackets (13) to interconnect the plow bottom assemblies for common pivotal movement. A coupling member (18) is pivotally attached at one end of the forecarriage unit and at the other end to the foremost plow bottom assembly. A double acting hydraulic cylinder 21 acts between the plow beam and the set of interconnected plow bottom assemblies such that actuation of the cylinder results in equal pivotal movement of each plow bottom assembly relative to the plow beam, as well as pivotal movement between the forecarriage unit and the plow beam about their pivotal connection.
