    • A back-to-back impeller for a radial turbo machine having a first and a second low pressure end (2, 2ʹ) and one high pressure end, which impeller in operation transfers two opposed axial low pressure flows of fluid to one radial high pressure flow of fluid or vice versa. the impeller comprises a first and a second set of impeller blades on a hub, symmetric relative to the impeller axis. These blades define a first and a second set of channels respectively communicating between said first low pressure end (2) and the high pressure end and said second low pressure end (2ʹ) and the high pressure end, respectively. Said blades (4, 4ʹ) are gradually thickened from the low pressure end towards the high pressure end and each channel of said first set of channels is at the periphery portion of the impeller embedded in a blade (4ʹ) of said second set of blades and vice versa. In this way a common high pressure end (5) is formed having all the channel openings in one file around the impeller periphery.
