    • An energy harvesting device for transferring vibrational energy from a radial to a tangential direction of a rotating wheel to which the device is attached, is provided. The device comprises a mass, positioned within and arranged to be moveable relative to, a frame, and a capacitor, a first plate of which is connected to the mass and a second plate of which is connected to the frame, such that relative movement of the mass and the frame in the tangential direction of the wheel alters the positions of the first and second plates of the capacitor relative to one another, thereby changing the capacitance of the capacitor. The device further comprises harvesting means arranged to harvest electrical energy in the tangential direction from the change in capacitance of the capacitor, the electrical energy comprising energy transferred, owing to the Coriolis force acting on the rotating wheel, from the radial to the tangential direction thereof.

    • A method of manufacturing capacitive elements for a capacitive device which comprises one or more layers is provided. At least one layer is etched from a first surface to a second surface thereof to form two sections of the layer, such that the sections are movable relative to one another, and such that a wall extending from the first surface to the second surface is formed on each of the two sections, the walls defining a gap therebetween. An etching step forms multiple recesses in each wall such that multiple capacitive elements are defined between adjacent recesses, the capacitive elements of one wall being offset from those of the other wall when the sections are stationary with respect to one another. A corresponding capacitive device is also provided.

    • A tyre localization system for locating the position of a tyre of a vehicle having five or more wheels, comprises a plurality of tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) wheel modules of a vehicle TPMS, each wheel module being attached to each one of the wheels or a tyre thereof, respectively. Each TPMS wheel module comprises a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader.
