摘要： A seal assembly (12) for a vehicle having a first seal (14) and a second seal (16) with a dual end cap (10) disposed between the first and second seals. The dual end cap (10) has a cover (54) that extends beyond the first and second seal (14,16), for providing a transition between the first and second seals. The dual end cap (10) also has a first projection (42) extending from the dual end cap for coupling the dual end cap to the first seal (14. The dual end cap (10) also has a hold down feature (58) extending opposite the first projection (42). The hold down feature (58) engages at least a portion of the third distal end (28) of the second seal (16) such that the portion of the third distal end (28) is sandwiched between the cover (54) and the hold down feature (58) for securing the dual end cap (10) to the second seal (16).

The base and the legs define an interior surface and a first channel for receiving a panel, and further define an exterior surface opposite the interior surface. The sealing body defines an overmold region opposite the first channel extending along a portion of the exterior surface of the sealing body. The sealing assembly further comprises a bonding layer of a first thermoplastic vulcanizate co-extruded onto the overmold region of the sealing body, and a molded layer of a second thermoplastic vulcanizate molded onto the bonding layer with the molded layer defining a second channel for receiving a fixed window of the vehicle. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing a sealing assembly.

摘要： The subject invention provides for a weatherstrip assembly for sealing between a frame and a closure member of a vehicle. The assembly includes a trim portion having a body and a flange extending from the body. The flange is capable of moving between an initial position and a final position. A seal extends from the body for abutting and sealing the closure member. An adhesive is disposed on the body for coupling the trim portion to the frame. The adhesive is disposed opposite the seal such that the seal extends away from the adhesive. A retaining member is selectively mounted to the flange and spaced from the adhesive for selectively engaging the frame to selectively hold the flange in the initial position relative to the frame. The retaining member is removed from the flange while concurrently moving the flange toward the final position.
