First, using a measurement device (1), an actual contour is measured on the workpiece by acquiring measurement values for the dimensions and shape of said workpiece in at least two measurement planes that are spaced apart from one another and extend transversely to the longitudinal extension of the workpiece region in question. Said measurement planes are produced by a relative movement of the workpiece region and the measurement device in the Z axis direction, relative to the movement of the grinding disc in the direction of the Z axis thereof.     • The invention relates to a device and a method for separating grinding oil from grinding slurry. The device has an agitation container (1) having an agitator (3) which is movable upward and downward in said container. Furthermore, grinding slurry comprising oil is introduced into the agitation container (1) via a supply line (4). In addition, there is a supply and return line (6) for a separating agent which is supplied into the agitation container (1) and by means of which the grinding oil can be separated from the grinding slurry. After being cleansed of grinding oil, the grinding slurry is delivered from the agitation container (1) into a separate receiving container (21) via a discharge line (8). A ring plate (9) is provided in the agitation container (1), which can be displaced in the height direction according to the respective functions of the agitation container. Said ring plate (9) is guided in a sealed, gliding manner on an agitator guide pipe (2) on one side and on the inside (11) of the wall of the agitation container (1) on the other side and has a passage (12) for discharging the grinding oil (25) discharged on the separating agent (24). In order to deliver separating agent (24) out of the agitation container (1), a discharge line (8) is provided at the lowest point of the agitation container (1) for delivering oil-cleansed grinding slurry (23).     • The invention relates to a method for grinding the exterior of a shaft part (10) with rotationally symmetrical sections and bases which have centering bores and which define a reference longitudinal axis and rotational axis of the shaft part. In the method according to the invention, the shaft part (10) to be ground is held between tips (11, 14) which engage into the centering bores during the grinding process using a grinding disk (1), and the shaft part is additionally supported on the rotationally symmetrical sections by means of a support device (2, 2', 3, 35). Furthermore, the current diameter values of the rotationally symmetrical sections of the shaft part (10) are measured and transmitted to a controller, by means of which the support device (2, 2', 3, 35) is updated with respect to the measured diameter values while continuously supporting the rotationally symmetrical sections until the target dimensions of the shaft part (10) are achieved. The invention additionally relates to a system for carrying out the method, consisting of a grinding machine and such a shaft part (10). The grinding machine belonging to the system has a support device (2, 2', 3, 35) with a first and a second support unit, which can be moved relative to each other and dependent on each other. The measurement signals of the current diameter of the rotationally symmetrical section of the shaft part (10) are forwarded to a controller by means of the measuring device (21), and the first and the second support unit (2, 2', 3, 35) can be constantly updated with respect to the current diameter of the rotationally symmetrical section on the basis of the measurement signals such that the shaft part (10) is doubly supported by the support units (2, 2', 3, 35) opposite the grinding disk (1) and by tips (11, 14) which are in engagement with the shaft part.

    • The invention provides a method for the centreless grinding of shaft parts (9), in particular of tubes for assembled camshafts, in the case of which the shaft part (9) which is to be ground, and has axial centring portions (11) on its end sides, is ground in rotatably driven fashion, in a manner which is customary in centreless grinding, in a gap between the grinding wheel (1) and regulating wheel (2). The grinding wheel (1) and regulating wheel (2) have a width which corresponds at least to the length of the shaft part (9). The shaft part (9) is ground in its end regions (28) first of all concentrically in relation to the centring portions (11), and this produces ground formations concentrically in relation to the centring portions (11). This is followed by the grinding of the intermediate region (29), which is located between the end regions (28), and then by the entire shaft part (9) being ground to size in a dimensionally accurate and dimensionally stable manner on the basis of the ground formations at the end regions (28) of the shaft part (9), said formations being made concentrically in relation to the centring portions (11) and resting on a support (16). In order to implement the method, the invention provides an appropriately dimensioned grinding-wheel and regulating-wheel pair (1, 2) in a centreless grinding machine, in the case of which regions of increased diameter, i.e. a respective profiling, are/is provided in the side regions of said machine in order to grind the end regions (28) of the shaft part (9).
