摘要： A method of managing vehicle engine/transmission systems to assist in thermal management of an engine exhaust aftertreatment system comprises: receiving data indicative of at least one current vehicle operating condition, said operating condition data including data signifying at least one of transmission out power and speed, current gear number, transmission gearing set, current engine temperature, current engine speed, current engine torque, and fueling; receiving data from engine fueling maps based on warm-up conditions; receiving a target temperature; determining a first expected exhaust temperature based on a transmission down shift and higher engine speed in view of said operating condition data and said fueling maps; determining a second expected exhaust temperature based on a transmission down shift and higher engine speed coupled with fuel dosing; determining a third expected exhaust temperature based on fuel dosing and non-shifted transmission; comparing said first, second and third expected exhaust temperatures against said target temperature; and providing a transmission gear shift recommendation in view of the compared expected exhaust temperatures based on an optimization of overall fuel economy.

摘要： An engine system including a lean burn active ignition engine and aftertreatment system, and a method for operating such a system, are disclosed. In a representative embodiment, the lean burn active ignition engine includes an engine block including plural cylinders, an intake manifold adapted to provide charge air to the cylinders, an exhaust manifold, an active ignition source; and fuel and air handling systems that provide fuel/ charge air mixture such that an air-to-fuel ratio of the mixed charge air and fuel in each of the engine cylinders is substantially greater than a stoichiometric quantity to achieve a lean burn condition. An exhaust gas aftertreatment system is fluidly coupled to an outlet of the exhaust manifold and includes an oxidation-reduction catalyst, and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst fluidly coupled to the oxidation-reduction catalyst and positioned downstream of the oxidation-reduction catalyst.

摘要： A fuel injector, a method of mounting a fuel injector, a combination injector and clamping, and a clamp are all provided for ensuring the fuel injector is mounted in a proper rotative position in an injector mounting bore of any one of multiple internal combustion engine platforms requiring different injector mounting positions. The injector includes a first alignment feature having a first geometry corresponding to a first engagement feature of the first engine platform and adapted to be engaged by the first engagement feature to secure the injector to the first engine platform. The fuel injector further includes a second alignment feature having a second geometry different from, and incompatible with, the first geometry and corresponding to a second engagement feature of the second engine platform thereby ensuring the fuel injector is circumferentially oriented in a correct rotative position required by a given engine platform.

摘要： The disclosure provides a waste heat recovery system and method in which pressure in a Rankine cycle (RC) system of the WHR system is regulated by diverting working fluid from entering an inlet of an energy conversion device of the RC system. In the system, an inlet of a controllable bypass valve is fluidly coupled to a working fluid path upstream of an energy conversion device of the RC system, and an outlet of the bypass valve is fluidly coupled to the working fluid path upstream of the condenser of the RC system such that working fluid passing through the bypass valve bypasses the energy conversion device and increases the pressure in a condenser. A controller determines the temperature and pressure of the working fluid and controls the bypass valve to regulate pressure in the condenser.

A first fuel path is provided that fluidically couples a fuel supply to an annular cooling ring formed on the outer surface of the barrel. The first fuel path further fluidically couples the annular cooling ring to a storage tank via an exit passage. A second, parallel fuel path is provided that fluidically couples the first fuel path to the drain groove, and further includes a drain passage fluidically coupled to the drain groove and the first fuel path via the storage tank.

The bearing component includes structure for providing a hard rotation stop, in one embodiment, the anti-rotation structure includes a slot formed in at least one bearing component having a surface for supporting a bearing shell. In other embodiments, a groove extends radially outward from a surface of at least one component for supporting a bearing shell to a side of the component.
