    • The invention concerns a process for tanning hide to obtain leather. The general process for obtaining the intermediary wet bleu stage comprises the following steps :
      a) a picking step with acid and salt, followed by
      b) a tanning step with chromium salt, followed by
      c) a basification step.
      The invention is characterized in that the bath of the pickling step comprises organic acids selected from 2-Methyl glutaric acid (MGA), ethyl succinic acid (ESA) and mixture thereof in place of the traditional strong acid, generally sulfuric acid
      This process requires less basification agent and enables an increase of the up-taking of the re-tanning products. This invention provides leather of improved mechanical properties.

    • A bag sealer (16) and an ice vending machine (1) using the same are provided. The ice vending machine (1) includes an ice making module (12), an ice storage bin (14), a bag sealer (16) and an ice guiding mechanism (17). The mixture is decomposed and generates species to deposit a layer on the substrate. The process further comprises adjusting the voltage and/or the frequency provided by the circuit generator and/or the value of the inductor to enhance the harmonic production extending the time during which voltage remains greater than the value of maintaining the electric charge, and changing the position and/or the configuration of an electrode to obtain the optimal characteristics of the reaction. The harmonics is enhanced in the order of 3-5. The chamber is opened or closed at its two ends, and comprises an inlet area and an outlet area for the substrate. The substrate insulates and forms a dielectric barrier and electrode. The mixture is introduced into the reaction chamber in the form of a reactive gas, a liquid reagent, and a reactive powder. An independent claim is included for an installation for depositing a layer on a substrate.
