    • There is provided an audio communication system for a life safety system. The audio communication system includes an audio data line having a plurality of audio channels for transmitting audio data and a CPU for controlling the transmission of the audio data along the audio data line. An audio source module and an audio amplifier module are coupled to the audio data line. To produce an audible sound, the CPU selects a particular channel of the plurality of audio channels for transmitting the audio data and sends this selection to the audio source module. The audio source module then places one or more audio packets, corresponding to the audible sound, on the selected channel. The audio amplifier module then receives a signal from the CPU that identifies the selected channel and, thus, the audio amplifier module will know which channel to find the audio packets. The audio packets are converted and directed to speakers to produce the audible sound.

    • The present invention relates to filler tubes and, more particularly, to fuel filler tubes and methods of attaching them to automobile fuel tanks. The fuel filler tube of the present invention includes an inlet tube (12), a retainer member (70), sealing means (38) and a fuel tank (48) having a downwardly extending diameter portion. The retainer (70) is disposed over the downwardly extending diameter portion and adhered to the tank. The inlet tube (12) is then inserted into the fuel tank aperture (66) until the inlet tubes annular flange (26) engages the fuel tank's annular lip (54). A crimping tool (96) is then inserted through the axial bore (34) of the inlet tube and a plurality of bearings contained on the crimping tool are forced radially outwardly to thereby crimp the inlet tube and downwardly extending diameter portion together. The retainer member (70) includes a plurality of recessed areas (86) for hosting the expanded inlet tube and tank portions (144).

    • A mixer for liquids and liquid suspensions has a motor drive and housing which is portable and can be carried from tank to tank and attached to the tank where mixing is carried out. The housing depends from the yoke and contains a quill (48) which is driven by the motor drive. A latch (84) is pivotly mounted on the outside of the quill and has a tab (92) which extends into the quill. The tab latches on to a rim of the mixer shaft when the shaft is inserted into the quill. The latch is held by a spring (97) suitably provided by a expansible lock ring so as to enable the latch to pivot as a lever about a fulcrum. The shaft is locked in the quill by a manually actuable connector (120) (suitably a set screw) which is disposed in alignment with the latch in order to align the quill with an opening for a tool which is manually actuable to lock the shaft in place with the set screw. An indicator surface (96) is provided on the latch facing an indicator (100) which is mounted in the housing. The indicator is preferably flexurally mounted in an opening in the housing so as to enable it to be used as a button to pivot the latch in order to release the mixer shaft.

    • The impellers have a plurality of fluidfoil blades (12,14,16) and have camber and twist.
