摘要： Digital cameras are common in the everyday life and are used as web-cams, as handy-cams, as a substitute of the more traditional celluloid-based cameras, as measurement units and the like. Although digital cameras represent a well-established technology, many technologic challenges are still present. One problem is the well known current leakage in the pixels of the image sensors of the digital camera, which leads to different amplitudes for each pixel. This effect - also known as FPN fixed pattern noise - is dominant especially in CMOS sensors, but also present in CCD sensors. An image enhancing device (1) is proposed comprising a correction module (9) operable to correct the image by applying a correction term to the pixel values of the image and an estimating module (11, 12) operable to estimate the correction term, whereby the estimating module (11, 12) is operable to estimate and/or update the correction term on basis of a residue value from the image and/or a preceding image, whereby the residue value is defined as the sum of differences of the pixels and/or pre-corrected pixels with respect to their neighbours.

The image processing apparatus includes a height obtaining unit which obtains a plurality of heights, above the document table, of a plurality of points of the pair of spread pages, based on a contour of the pair of spread pages which appears in the image, and an image correcting unit which corrects the degradation of the image based on the plurality of heights obtained by the height obtaining unit. The degradation may be unevenness of lightness, deformation, a blur, or the like.

摘要： A method for developing a set of gain correction coefficients corrected for structural noise to be used in correcting the digital values representing an image captured by a pixelated detector having a plurality of individual sensors. The gain correction coefficients are developed by first obtaining a first set gain correction coefficients using a flat exposure and adjusting the individual sensor gain output so that all sensors produce the same output value, and then applying a smoothing filter to the first set of gain correction coefficients to obtain a new set of corrected gain correction coefficients.

摘要： A page-wide array inkjet printer allocates the processing tasks for individual printheads within the array to separate halftoning processors. Each halftoning processor processes the information relating to a strip of the image, with the boundaries between strips running parallel to the print medium advance direction. In a preferred embodiment, the pixels within each strip are processed using a forward error diffusion algorithm operating along columns of pixels parallel to the strip boundaries. The resulting halftone data is supplied from each halftoning processor to one or more uniquely associated printing component controllers, and these controllers generate print instructions for printing components (e.g. inkjet printheads) connected to the printing component controllers via a dedicated communications channel.
