摘要： A vent valve for a fuel system includes a float, a flapper assembly and an orifice plate. The flapper assembly has a flapper and a seal mounted on or fixed to the flapper. The flapper assembly can be movably engaged with the float. The orifice plate can have a plate body that includes a nipple portion extending to a terminal end that defines a valve seat. The valve seat comprises an orifice having splines arranged around an outer diameter thereof. The seal is configured to selectively engage the valve seat between a sealed, closed position and an unsealed, open position. The splines facilitate movement of the seal from the closed position to the open position with reduced reopening force.

摘要： A system for sensing the presence of nearby objects includes an emitter-detector assembly (15) and retroreflector (16). The emitter-detector assembly (15) has a light emission area from which light is transmitted toward the retroreflector (16). The retroreflector (16) returns that light to a light detection area of the emitter-detector assembly (15) which produces a signal indicating an unbroken light path. Objects passing near the assembly interrupt the light path thereby providing an indication of their presence. The light emission area and the light detection area are concentric to each other which enables the light detection area to have close proximity to the light emission area. That parameter optimizes response to light from the retroreflector (16), while minimizing response to light reflected by other objects.

摘要： A method for setting lash on a switching rocker arm assembly includes providing a rocker arm having (i) an outer arm having a first outer side arm and a second outer side arm, the outer arm defining an opening, (ii) an inner arm disposed between the first and second outer side arms, (iii) a roller follower that selectively engages a cam, the roller follower mounted about a bearing axle that extends through the opening. A zero lash shim is inserted into a gap defined between the bearing axle and the outer arm at the opening. The rocker arm is installed into the valvetrain with the master tip cap. Lash is measured between the cam and the roller follower. The rocker arm and the master tip cap is removed. A select fit valve tip cap is installed based on the master tip cap and the measured lash.
