Said image recording system comprises a microlens array, a detector array, and an optional pinhole array. The mode of operation of the inventive image recording system is based on a separate representation of different solid angle segments of the object space by a plurality of parallel optical channels. The optical axes of the individual optical channels are provided with different inclinations so as to represent a function of the distance between the optical channel and the center point of the image recording system, which faces the image, thus making it possible to specifically determine the ratio between the size of the visual field and the size of the image field. The detectors used are so sensitive that they are provided with great pitch while having a small active area.
