    • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Verpackungsmaschine (10) sowie ein Verfahren zum Verschweißen einer Verpackung (16) für Objekte (14) mit den Schritten:

      Um den Verpackungsablauf effizienter mit weniger Stillstandzeiten auszuführen und qualitativ hochwertigere Längssiegelnähte zu erstellen wird vorgeschlagen, dass mittels wenigstens eines optischen Sensors (32-1) die korrekte Position der Längskanten (18-5, 18-6) permanent kontrolliert wird und zwar die Positionen der beiden Längskanten (18-5, 18-6) einzeln während des Zuführens und Umlegens der Folienbahn (18) und/oder die Positionen beider Längskanten (18-5, 18-6) gleichzeitig, wenn die Randbereichsinnenseiten (18-1) aneinanderliegen oder verschweißt sind.
