The lottery terminal (70) can pass through information from the bar code scanner (74) to the POS terminal (68) through a scanner interface of the POS terminal (68) using a predetermined scanner data format and can also transmit lottery ticket information to the POS terminal (68) using a similar data format. A group of POS terminals (68) may be coupled to an in-store processor (102) to enable both lottery and merchandise data to be recognized and recorded.

摘要： For use with a public communication facility (C) incorporating terminals (T1-TN), e.g. a telephone system, a statistical analysis system (D) interfaces with individual stations where a caller is prompted by voice instructions to provide digital data that is identified for positive association with the caller and is stored for processing. Callers are identified by sequence, assigned designations, and encoded forms of the sequence designation provided in the form of an acknowledgement. The stored data is statistically processed and correlated to establish data isolating the selection of the callers as identified by the system. Call sequence and identification data enables confirmation to identify specific callers.

摘要： The dispenser (21) dispenses tickets (46) such as instant-winner lottery tickets from a strip in which the individual tickets are delineated by perforation lines (47). The dispenser includes a separator (58) to tear the tickets apart before issuing them from the machine. The separator preferably is rotary and has a dull helical blade (92) which rotates to contact the ticket strip adjacent a perforation line, and presses against the strip to tear the tickets apart along the perforation line at a point which progresses across the strip along the perforation line. A detector (140) is provided to position the front edge of the first ticket in the strip at the proper location before separation is performed. Preferably, a code bar reader is provided for reading information from the tickets to initialize the dispenser control system and in accounting for the sale of tickets, and in the verification of winning tickets being sold.
