摘要： Novel particles and materials for chromatographic separations, processes for preparation and separations devices containing the chromatographic particles and materials are provided by the instant invention. In particular, the invention provides a porous inorganic/organic hybrid particle, wherein the inorganic portion of the hybrid particle is present in an amount ranging from about 0 molar % to not more than about 49 molar %, wherein the pores of the particle are substantially disordered. The invention also provides a porous inorganic/organic hybrid particle, wherein the inorganic portion of the hybrid particle is present in an amount ranging from about 25 molar % to not more than about 50 molar %, wherein the pores of the particle are substantially disordered and wherein the particle has a chromatographically enhancing pore geometry (CEPG). 摘要： The invention relates to the preparation of monolithic silica under mild conditions from alkoxysilanes derived from sugars, sugar acids, sugar alcohols and polysaccharides including glycerol, sorbitol, mannose and dextran. Unlike the commonly used silica starting material TEOS (Si(OEt)4), the sol-gel hydrolysis and cure of the sugar derivatives are not very sensitive to pH as similar rates of gelation were observed over a pH range of about 5.5-11. The morphology of the resulting silicas could be varied using specific additives, including multivalent ions and hydrophilic polymers.

摘要： An oxygen scavenger for absorbing and removing oxygen from an atmosphere. It comprises cerium oxide having an oxygen deficiency and comprises either a powder having a specific surface area of 0.6 m 2 /g or smaller or a molding having a specific surface area of 3.0 m 2 /g or smaller. The oxygen scavenger can react with oxygen even in an atmosphere containing no water. It can be prevented from reacting by the action of a metal detector or from being heated by microwave in a microwave oven. Even when in direct contact with the air, the oxygen scavenger can be inhibited from abruptly reacting with oxygen and igniting. It is hence suitable for use in removing oxygen in, e.g., food packages.

hardening the mixed wet gel containing zeolite in to a wet gel body having more than 0% to 10% or lower of deformation ratio;
cutting said wet gel body;
drying said cut wet gel body to form a dry gel body. The adsorbent-containing compact according to the present invention is characterized in that it is obtained from the method of manufacturing the same.
