    • A plasma display panel having stabilized address characteristics. The plasma display is arranged such that priming discharge takes place between an auxiliary electrode (18) connected with a scanning electrode (6) formed on a front substrate (1) and a priming electrode (14) formed on a back substrate (2), and the margin of priming discharge is widened by setting the film thickness of a dielectric layer (4) on the front substrate (1) in a region corresponding to a priming cell (gap part 13) thinner than the film thickness of the dielectric layer (4) in a region corresponding to a cell space (11). Consequently, priming particle supply to a discharge cell is stabilized and address characteristics are stabilized by decreasing discharge lag at the time of addressing.

    • In a plasma display panel, a discharge space is formed by arranging a front substrate (2) and a rear substrate to face each other and sealing the circumference. In the front substrate, a display electrode (6), a dielectric layer (8) and a protection layer (9) are formed on a front glass substrate (3), and in the rear substrate, an electrode, barrier ribs and a phosphor layer are formed on a substrate. The display electrode (6) contains at least silver, and the dielectric layer (8) is composed of a first dielectric layer (81) which covers the display electrode (6) and contains bismuth oxide and calcium oxide, and a second dielectric layer (82) which covers the first dielectric layer (81) and contains bismuth oxide and barium oxide.

    • Disclosed is a plasma display panel wherein a discharge space is formed by arranging a front plate and a back plate opposite to each other and hermetically sealing the peripheral portions of the front and back plates. The front plate is obtained by forming a display electrode, a dielectric layer and a protective layer on a glass substrate, while the back plate is obtained by forming an electrode, a partition wall and a phosphor layer on a substrate. The plasma display panel is characterized in that the display electrode (6) contains at least silver, that the dielectric layer (8) is composed of a first dielectric layer (81) covering the display electrode and a second dielectric layer (82) covering the first dielectric layer and containing bismuth oxide, that the first dielectric layer has a thickness of not less than 5 µm but not more than 13 µm, and that the thickness ratio of the first dielectric layer to the display electrode is more than 1 but not more than 3.
