摘要： Adsorptive ultra-fine metal particles having a bond between an organic acid component and a metal, and exhibiting an infrared absorption peak derived from the bond between the organic acid component and the metal near 1518 cm -1 . The adsorptive ultra-fine metal particles are capable of exhibiting excellent deodorizing property and VOC-adsorbing property without impairing properties and formability of the resin. The invention is further concerned to an adsorptive resin composition and an adsorptive coating material containing the adsorptive ultra-fine metal particles and are capable of forming shaped resin articles or coatings.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an adsorbing molded body wherein, in an ohmic heating type adsorption recovery treatment apparatus, the size of the adsorption recovery treatment apparatus is prevented from increasing, the amount adsorbed per unit of volume can be prevented from decreasing, and a special electrode with a low contact resistance is no longer needed; moreover, in an electromagnetic wave heating type adsorption recovery treatment apparatus, local heating and spark discharges can be prevented from occurring. An adsorbing molded body according to the present invention is an adsorbing molded body, which is subject to ohmic heating or electromagnetic wave heating, that includes: an electrically conductive powder adsorbent; an insulating powder adsorbent; and an inorganic binder. The inorganic binder binds the powder adsorbents together, namely, the inorganic binder binds together the above described two types of powder adsorbents. Furthermore, such an adsorbing molded body is obtained by mixing the insulating powder adsorbent together with the inorganic binder into an electrically conductive powder adsorbent, subsequently forming and drying the mixture, and, furthermore., calcining the mixture as needed.

摘要： Dry-scrubbing media compositions, methods of preparation and methods of use are provided. The compositions contain activated alumina and magnesium oxide. Optionally, activated carbon and other impregnates, such as hydroxides of group 1A metals, are included. The compositions exhibit improved efficiency and capacity for the removal of compounds, such as hydrogen sulfide, from an air-stream. The compositions are particularly useful for reducing or preventing the release of toxic gaseous compounds from the areas such as landfills, petroleum storage areas, refineries, drinking water systems, sewage treatment facilities, swimming pools, hospital morgues, animal rooms, and pulp and paper production sites.

The process includes contacting an aqueous solution containing a chemical contaminant with an aggregate composition comprising an insoluble rare earth-containing compound to form a solution depleted of chemical contaminants. The insoluble rare earth-containing compound can include one or more of cerium, lanthanum, or praseodymium. A suitable insoluble cerium-containing compound can be derived from a cerium carbonate, cerium oxalate and/or a cerium salt. The aggregate composition can include more than 10.01% by weight of the insoluble rare earth-containing compound, and in a particular embodiment consists essentially of one or more cerium oxides, and optionally a binder and/or flow aid. Although intended for a variety of fluid treatment applications, such applications specifically include removing or detoxifying chemical contaminants in water.
