摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for receiving products, such as stacks of sliced luncheon meat, in an intermittent flow pattern, for conveying the products in two generally parallel paths at two different flow rates, and for merging the two generally parallel paths into a single path through which the products flow on a non-intermittent basis. The two generally parallel paths have a fill mode during which an intermittent grouping of products are received onto the conveyor path, as well as a feed mode during which the intermittent grouping of products are fed in a continuous flow to a merging device. When one of the conveyor paths is in its fill mode, the other conveyor path is in its feed mode, and vice versa. The speed of each conveyor path during its fill mode is greater than that during its feed mode.

The printing press folder includes a cutting apparatus cutting a moving web to form successive signatures, a first acceleration cylinder and a second acceleration cylinder. The first acceleration cylinder includes a first contacting segment and a first relieved portion circumferentially adjacent to the first contacting segment. The second acceleration cylinder includes a second contacting segment and a second relieved portion circumferentially adjacent to the second contacting segment. The first acceleration cylinder and the second acceleration cylinder grip the web at a gripping location with the first contacting segment and the second contacting segment to create a tension in the web as the web is cut by the cutting apparatus. A method of varying tension in a web in a printing press folder is also provided.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for cross-cutting material strips (1), in particular cardboard strips, comprising a cutting device (3) which consists of a blade drum (8,9) with two cross blades and a sheet transport device (4) located behind a cross-cutting device (3). Said device includes a conveyor belt (13) for accelerating the sheets created by the cross-cutting device and a braking- and overlapping device connected thereto, a copy stream being generated from sheets. The transport device (4) has a lower conveyor belt (13) on the input side, whose upper, delivery trunk (18) is limited on the outlet side by a deflection roller (21). Said roller acts as a sheet ejection roller and directs a sheet to a section wherein it is transported for a short interval without being clamped therein and limits the entrance of the sheet compartment. The conveyor belt of the conveyor (13) is deflected downwards and at the same time acts as a transporter in said sheet compartment.

摘要： A cutter blade (16) for a rotary cutting wheel (10) of a food slicing machine and a method for cutting food products into uniform thickness slices using the cutter blade wherein the cutter blade includes leading and trailing edges (20, 22), a circular fastener aperture (18) at each end area of the blade having centers aligned in a common plane of tension (P) extending longitudinally along and transversely of the blade and wherein the straight leading and trailing edge portions of each blade are of unequal lengths and extend parallel with the common plane of tension. A sharpened cutting edge is formed on the leading edge of the blade and the straight leading edge of the blade is longer than the maximum distance between the aperture diameters and the trailing edge of the blade is shorter than the minimum distance between aperture diameters. When installed on a rotary cutting wheel and used to slice food products, the blades produce a first velocity (V1) of advancement of unsliced food products across the cutting plane for each revolution of the cutting wheel and for a given slice thickness and the products are fed into the cutting plane of the blades at a second velocity (V2) that corresponds closely to the first velocity.

摘要： A device for cutting a paper web (P) in the transverse direction has a first continuously driven conveyor (1) for moving the paper web through the device and storing the paper web therein (buffer) during cutting in the form of a loop (20), a stationary cutting device (5), a clamping device (4) for temporarily retaining the paper web, and a second conveyor (6) for moving the paper web further after it is stored. The second conveyor (6) comprises a continuously driven transport roller (6a) and several pressure rollers (6b) that can be intermittently pressed by a lifting device (9) onto the transport roller (6a), the paper web (P) being intercalated between the transport roller and the pressure rollers. The clamping device (4) and the lifting device (9) can be driven in step with the cutting device (5), so that the paper web is retained by the clamping device (4) and the pressure rollers (6b) are lifted from the transport roller (6a) while the paper web is cut. The second conveyor (6) is arranged between the clamping device (4) and the cutting device (5). Its transport roller (6a) has a surface layer (8) with the highest possible coefficient of friction with the paper web (P). The lifting device (9) is designed or can be controlled in such a way that the pressure rollers (6b) are lifted from the transport roller (6a) shortly before the paper web is stretched when the loop (20) is undone.

摘要： Shingling of paperboard sheets cut from a web with a helical blade cutoff knife utilizes the downward deflection of the trailing edge of the cut sheet and simultaneous lifting of the leading edge of the web to position the sheets for shingling immediately downstream of the knife. A vacuum outfeed conveyor takes advantage of the initial downward deflection of the sheet caused by cutting to pull the trailing edge of the sheet onto the vacuum conveyor which is simultaneously slowed relative to the lead edge of the advancing web. In the preferred embodiment, vacuum is continuously applied and the conveyor is accelerated back to line speed as soon as the leading end of the web is pulled onto the vacuum conveyor.

摘要： Linerless labels are cut or burst from a web (W) by passing the web (W) through infeed and outfeed pairs of rolls (12, 14; 30, 32) with a separator device located therebetween. Each roll pair includes a friction surface for engaging the slick smooth surface (S) of the web and another roll with a silicone elastomeric or plasma-coated surface for engaging substantially without gripping the exposed adhesive side (A) of the linerless label web (W). In the cutting mode, a rotary blade severs (42) the web against a fixed blade (40) to form the label. The infeed rolls (12, 14) are backed up after each cut to break the adhesive bond between the web (W) and the fixed blade (40) and then reverse to advance through the cutting position and into the outfeed rolls (30, 32) for a subsequent cutting operation. The outfeed rolls (30, 32) continue to advance the cut linerless label to a receiving station. In a bursting mode, the web (W) is perforated and a roller breaker bar (80) is disposed between the infeed and outfeed rolls (12, 14; 30, 32) to break the web (W) along the perforations to form the linerless label.
