摘要： A system for determining a distance to an object comprises an image capture device (101) which has a coded aperture and an image sensor which is positioned out of a focus plane of the coded aperture. A receiver (103) receives an image of a scene from the image sensor and a detector (105) detects at least two image objects of the image corresponding to ghost images of the object resulting from different openings of the coded aperture in response to an optical characteristic of the object. A distance estimator (107) then determines a distance to the object in response to a displacement in the image of the at least two image objects. The distance may be to a person and the image may be a bright pupil image wherein pupils are enhanced by reflection of light by the retina. The image may be compensated by a dark pupil image of the scene.

摘要： The invention comprises a method and means for achieving increased depth of focus at photography. The method creates an improvement of depth of field at use of traditional 'Tilt and Shift' - technique, and increased possibilities to obtain good depth of field with other and quite ordinary cameras. The method is primarily meant for electronic cameras, where the image is created electronically from a sensor in the camera and is based on a multi-photo technique. Several photos are shot with different focused parts of the scene subjects in respective photo, and a basic image is integrated by contributions from the different images. Calculated image transfers based on lens-/sensor settings for respective image, compose a starting point for corrections of images and selection of respective image contributions.

摘要： A system and method for computing a digital image of a scene, where the digital image contains enhanced depth information are disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention form a light distribution on a focal-plane array, where the light distribution is based on an optical image of the scene formed by a lens system. During the exposure period of the focal-plane array, longitudinal and transverse motion are imparted between the light distribution and the focal-plane array, which encodes depth information on the blur kernel of the lens system, thereby generating an encoded digital output signal. A depth-information-enhanced digital image of the scene is computed by deconvolving the encoded digital output signal with the blur kernel of the lens system and a model of the transverse motion.
