摘要： This invention relates to a process for carrying out an ion exchange process which involves providing two interacting sets of banks of continuously stirred tank reactors (CSTR's) each containing a bed of ion exchange resin and causing the resin to move in one direction through each bank of reactors and the feed solution and/or or eluant in the opposite direction, in carrying out the process, a feed solution is introduced in a first reactor causing dissolved ions to be captured on the resin, eluant is introduced into a reactor upstream of the first reactor in the direction of resin movement causing ions captured on the resin to be removed into the eluant and eluant rich in ions removed from the resin will be taken from a reactor upstream of the reactor in which the eluant was introduced, for further processing. Thus, in this form of the invention there is, in effect, a loading bank of reactors in which ions from the feed solution are captured followed by a regenerating bank of reactors in which the eluant removes the ions captured on the resin and regenerates the resin.

摘要： The present invention relates to a surface-modified biomass which is crosslinked with an amine group-containing cationic polymer on the surface of a cell biomass, its preparation method, and a method for recovering valuable metals using the same. The surface-modified biomass of the present invention has an advantage of improving adsorption of and affinity with anionic pollutants as a result of further introducing a cationic functional group by crosslinking of the amine group-containing cationic polymer on the surface of the biomass. In addition, the method for recovering valuable metals with the present invention is environment-friendly, economical, and harmless to the human body.

摘要： An ion exchanger includes a sheet-shaped positive ion exchanger 2 in which binder particles 5 and positive ionic exchange resin particles 4 are mixed with each other, and a sheet-shaped porous negative ion exchanger 3 in which binder particles 7 and negative ionic exchange resin particles 6 are mixed with each other, the positive ion exchanger 2 and the negative ion exchanger 3 are bonded to each other to form an interface, and capacity of the negative ion exchanger 3 is greater than that of the positive ion exchanger 2. Therefore, the porous ion exchanger 1 is formed and absorbing ability of ion is increased, capacity of the negative ion exchanger 3 is made greater than that of the positive ion exchanger 2, regenerating ability of the ion exchanger with respect to absorbing ability of ion can be secured, and ion absorption and regeneration processing is carried out efficiently.

摘要： The invention provides a method of reducing the sodium content of a water containing dissolved sodium ions, particularly a water with a sodium ion content of at least 100 ppm. Examples of such waters are effluents such as acid mine drainage and river waters. The method includes the steps of: (i) removing sodium, calcium and magnesium ions from the water by contacting the water with a cation exchange resin/s to capture sodium, calcium and magnesium ions thereon, (ii) treating the cation exchange resin/s of step (i) with nitric acid to produce an eluant containing sodium ions, calcium ions, magnesium ions nitrate ions and nitric acid, (iii) adding a carbonate to the eluant to precipitate the calcium and magnesium ions as calcium and magnesium carbonates; (iv) separating the precipitated carbonates from the eluant; and (v) treating the eluant from step (iv) to obtain a sodium and/or potassium nitrate product.

摘要： Provided are electrochemical devices that are rechargeable, where the regeneration techniques are based on a batch-wise application of current or current density to the cells, where there are a service mode where no current or current density is applied and a recharge mode where a current or current density is applied. Electrochemical and EDI systems according to the embodiments herein are suitable for deionization and/or purification of typical municipal tap quality water in applications where demand for purified, low-TDS water is intermittent. Such operations avoid the use of chemical additions for regeneration purposes. In addition the cells provided herein are amenable to small footprints for consumer and commercial applications such as: dishwashers, washing machines, coffee and espresso makers, ice makers, steam tables, car wash water sources, and steamers.

摘要： An electrodeionization apparatus for producing deionized water comprises a deionization treatment unit including deionization chamber D and a pair of concentration chambers C1 and C2 placed adjacent to deionization chamber D on opposite sides thereof and those concentration chambers are filled with anion exchangers. The deionization chamber D is partitioned by an ion exchange membrane into first small deionization chamber D-1 adjacent to concentration chamber C1 and second small deionization chamber D-2 adjacent to concentration chamber C2. First small deionization chamber D-1 is filled with an anion exchanger. Second small deionization chamber D-2 is filled with an anion exchanger and a cation exchanger in a sequence such that the ion exchanger, through which water that is to be treated finally passes, is the anion exchanger.
