    • A cutting device 100 feed a web 200 between a die roll 10 and an anvil roll 20, and cut a continuous portion 210 of the web 200. The cutting device 100 includes a continuous portion transport unit 30 configured to hold and transport the continuous portion 210 of the web being continuous in a moving direction of the web, and a discontinuous portion transport unit 40 configured to hold and transport a discontinuous portion of the web being discontinuous in the moving direction of the web. The die roll 10 includes a first large diameter portion 12 whose outer peripheral surface is provided with a cutting blade 15 configured to cut a continuous portion 210 of the web. The anvil roll 20 includes a second large diameter portion 22 disposed to face the first large diameter portion 12. By the discontinuous portion transport unit 40, the discontinuous portion 220 passes through between the die roll 10 and the anvil roll 20 without contacting the first large diameter portion 12 and the second large diameter portion 22.

    • The invention relates to a device for sorting flat mail (4). Said device comprises a separating device (1) provided with a reading device for detecting address information, and a temporary storage unit (5) containing pockets (6) which are downwardly guided and connected to a transport device. The mail (4) can be respectively transported to a pocket loading station in which the mail (4) is respectively loaded into an empty pocket (6) in order to be sorted. The inventive device also comprises delivery transport devices (7). Each delivery transport device (7) transports the mail (4) to a stacking device, has various sections (8), and moves in relation to the temporary storage unit (5). Part of the delivery transport device (7) is arranged beneath the temporary storage unit (5). The transport speed and direction of a delivery transport device (7) correspond to the transport speed and direction of the temporary storage unit (5) in such a way that each section of the delivery transport device (7) passes each pocket (6) of the temporary storage unit (5) once during the displacement thereof along an overlapping region. The mail (4) is emptied from the pockets (6) of the temporary storage unit (5) onto a delivery transport device such that they leave the delivery transport device (7) in the stacking direction in the determined order of the receiver addresses.
