摘要： The present invention is a system and method which controls outer loop transmit power for transmission power of an uplink/downlink communication in a spread spectrum time division communication. The system receives a communication from a base station (901) and determines an error rate (902) on the received communication. The system then distinguishes between static and dynamic channels, produces a static adjustment value (908), and characterizes the dynamic channels to generate a dynamic adjustment value. The target power level is then adjusted by the static and dynamic adjustment values, setting the transmission power level (912).

A first transmission of the set of information segments is received and processed to identify each of the segments as valid or invalid (81). The valid segments (82) of the first set are then stored. Where all segments of the set are not stored (83), subsequent transmissions (85) of the set of information segments are received and only those segments not previously stored are processed to identify each such segment as valid or invalid. The valid segments so identified (81) are then stored (82). Subsequent transmissions (85) are repeatedly received unless all segments of the set have been stored.

摘要： Colored 5-aminolevulinic acid crystals useful for photodynamic therapy are disclosed. Preferably the colored 5-aminolevulinic acid crystals have the color imparted by irradiation of the crystals, such as gamma radiation. The colored ALA crystals are preferably pharmaceutically pure and sterile and can be contained in a sealed sterile container. Also disclosed is sterile aqueous ALA solution which includes the colored ALA crystals contained in water. Also disclosed is a method for preparing colored ALA crystals which includes exposing non-irradiated ALA crystals to a radiation source at a dose sufficient to impart a color which is different than any color present in the non-irradiated crystals. Preferably the irradiation is sufficient to sterilize the ALA crystals. The sterile colored ALA crystals can be used in a kit for internal or external treatment and/or detection of a condition in a mammal, which includes the sterile, colored ALA crystals and sterile diluent, and in the case of internal treatment and/or detection optionally a catheter for administration of the ALA.

摘要： A frequency selective transient voltage protector (FSTVP) circuit that may be used in connection with a communication line over which POTS and DSL service may be simultaneously provided. The FSTVP circuit attenuates high frequency transient voltages that exceed a predetermined voltage level, while permitting low frequency, generally high voltage signals (e.g., ring signals) and high frequency, low voltage signals (e.g., DSL signals) to pass with little or no attenuation. The FSTVP circuit comprises a frequency selective network (that comprises a frequency discriminator and a voltage discriminator) connected to an overvoltage protection device that shunts any high frequency transient voltages thus protecting devices connected downstream along the communications line from damage. The frequency selective network is tuned to gate the overvoltage protection device when the frequency and voltage of a signal present on the communication line exceed predetermined values.
