摘要： An enthalpy pump (10) for altering the humidity level of an air stream (12, 14). The enthalpy pump comprises a container having a transfer portion (38) disposed in a first air stream (12), with a liquid desiccant contained in the transfer portion (38). The transer portion (38) is permeable to water vapor and impermeable to the liquid desiccant to thereby retain the liquid desiccant within the container while permitting exposure of the liquid desiccant to the first air stream. The transfer portion (38) is also adapted to move the liquid desiccant into and out of the first air stream whereby the latent and/or sensible energy of the first air stream can be altered.

摘要： A vapor extraction apparatus is described that includes a gel sorbent capable of absorbing vapor directly into the liquid state and capable of disgorging the absorbed liquid in a phase-transition. The apparatus includes a housing adapted for movement from a first postition, where it is exposed to a vapor-containing gas stream and a first environmental condition, and capable of moving to a second position, where it it exposed to a second environmental condition. A gel sorbent is disposed on at least one surface of the housing. The sorbent is capable of sorbing vapor from gas stream as liquid when the sorbent is in first position. The sorbent is capable of disgorging the liquid during phase-transition collapse when it is in the second position. A gel sorbent that includes one or more polymers capable of both sorptive and phase-regenerative properties is also described. Methods for extracting vapor using the gel sorbents and apparatus of the invention are also described.

Généralement, à l'aide d'un gaz en mouvement (12), à une pression constante, une variation continue d'un équilibre vapeur-liquide est créée entre des températures, proches mais variant continuellement, de déshydratants de liquide et de gaz, à l'intérieur d'une chambre de transfert d'énergie. L'humectage de la chambre, effectué de manière segmentée (38, 40, 42) permet un transfert de masse dans et depuis le gaz en mouvement. Un différentiel de température forcé entre des puits (62) et des sources thermiques (72) provoque le transfert de chaleur au moyen de barrières thermoconductrices. Simultanément, avec les écarts de température, l'humectage segmenté permet également la variation, entre les secteurs humectés (38, 40, 42), des concentrations de déshydratants (44) de liquide provoquées par l'évaporation ou la condensation. Un mouvement migratoire reliant ces secteurs humectés permet le développement de gradients de concentration applicables entre les secteurs humectés sur la longueur de la chambre.

摘要： A process for conditioning moist gas, preferably air conditioning, in which the gas step-by-step is contacted with a successively more concentrated absorption liquid consisting of a solution of one or more non-volatile components in the substance condensing during the absorption. The absorption is carried out isothermally or almost isothermally on cooled surfaces. The diluted absorption liquid is concentrated by evaporation and recycled to the absorption device. According to one embodiment the absorption is carried out step-by-step counter-currently, and the diluted absorption liquid is concentrated by multi-stage evaporation. According to another embodiment, the diluted absorption liquid obtained in each absorption stage is concentrated in a corresponding stage of a multi-stage evaporator having as many stages as the absorption device. In air conditioning the resulting air having a low humidity is re-moistened to the desired humidity by the injection of water, whereby the air simultaneously is cooled to the desired temperature by the evaporation of water.
