    • A portable terminal can obtain information on a place where the radio wave reception level is adequate from a second portable terminal irrespective of the radio wave reception level of the portable terminal. A portable terminal for communicating with a second portable terminal through a base station includes a communication interface for communicating with the second portable terminal not through the base station, a position detecting section, a radio wave reception level detecting section, a request transmitting section, an information receiving section, and an output section. The position detecting section detects the current position of the portable terminal. The radio wave reception level detecting section detects the radio wave reception level at the current position. A request transmitting section requests the second portable terminal to send the current position information and radio wave reception level of the second portable terminal through the communication interface. The information receiving section receives the current position information and radio wave reception level of the second portable terminal from the second portable terminal through the communication interface. The output section relates the current position and radio wave reception level of the portable terminal to those of the second portable terminal received by the information receiving section and outputs them.

    • An advance direction measurement device (11) is connected with two antennas (12, 13) installed on a movable body and receiving signals from a satellite. Further, the advance direction measurement device (11) has an antenna azimuth measurement section (21) for measuring, based on a signal received by each of the antennas (12, 13), an antenna arrangement azimuth representing an azimuth that is the direction in which either of the positions of the two antennas (12, 13) is viewed from the other; a velocity calculation section (22) for calculating a velocity vector of the movable body based on the signal received by each of the antennas (12, 13); a correction value calculation section (23) for calculating, as a correction value, an angle formed by the orientation of the velocity vector when the magnitude of the calculated velocity vector is equal to or greater than a predetermined value and by the antenna arrangement azimuth; and an advance direction calculation section (24) for calculating the advance direction of the movable body by using both the calculated correction value and the antenna arrangement orientation. The advance direction measurement device has no limitation on the installation of the antennas and can accurately measure the advance direction of a movable body such as an automobile.
