    • A constituent member of a tire is produced by sequentially adhering strip members (1) on a curved surface of the outer periphery of a curved-surface drum (11) of which central portion is swollen more than peripheral edges on both sides of the drum, where the adhesion is made so that the strip members are diagonally directed and to be circumferentially adjacent to each other. An adhering device (21) sequentially sends out a strip member (1), with its head end first, and continuously adheres it on the curved surface of the outer periphery of the drum (11). This is carried out while the adhering device (21) moves at a constant speed (V) relative to the drum (11) in a direction of a rotation axis (C) of the drum. During the adhesion process above, a control device (40) for controlling an angular velocity (omega) of the drum (11) gradually increases the velocity from when a head end portion (1a) of the strip member (1) is adhered on the drum, and sets the velocity at a maximum when the strip member is adhered to the central portion of the drum. After that, the velocity is gradually reduced, and when a rear end portion (1b) is adhered, the velocity is equal to that set when the head end portion (1a) is adhered. The above enables that the strip members to be adhered without excess and deficiency, so that the constituent member of a tire with uniform quality can be formed.

The method comprises: braiding a plurality of ply cords (86) into an interlaced structure using a braiding machine (12); moving a mandrel (28) axially relative to the braiding machine (12); while moving the mandrel (28) relative to the braiding machine (12), applying the braided ply cords (86) onto the mandrel (28) to form a carcass (82) including a crown portion (90), a first sidewall portion (94), and a second sidewall portion (100) connected with the first sidewall portion (94) by the crown portion (90); and varying a movement speed of the mandrel (28) such that each of the braided ply cords (86) follows a geodesic path from the first sidewall portion (94) to the second sidewall portion (100).
