摘要： The invention relates to a device for stimulating neurons, comprising a non-invasive stimulation unit for applying mechanically tactile and/or thermal stimuli to the body surface of a patient. The stimuli stimulate neurons with a pathologically synchronous and oscillatory neural activity. The device also comprises a measuring unit for recording measurement signals, which describe a neural activity of the stimulated neurons, and a control and analyzing unit for controlling the stimulation unit and analyzing the measurement signals. The control and analyzing unit is designed to actuate the stimulation unit such that the stimulation unit abrades at least one part of the body surface of the patient along a path and thereby periodically applies stimuli, to select at least two regions on the patient's body surface along the path where the phase synchronization between the periodic application of the stimuli and the neural activity of the stimulated neurons have a respective local maximum using the measurement signals recorded in reaction to the periodic application of the stimuli, and to actuate the stimulation unit such that the stimulation unit applies stimuli in a delayed manner in the at least two selected regions, said stimuli causing the phase of the neural activity of the stimulated neurons to be reset.

摘要： An ingestible gastrointestinal capsule (GIC) for mechanically stimulating a segment of the gastrointestinal (GI) wall by alternately and repeatedly pressurizing, and/or vibrating it is provided. The GIC is programmed to being activated following a predefined time delay. The activated GIC agitates, shakes, rattles, jolts, vibrates and/or moves in a reciprocal expanding and contracting motion thereby mechanically stimulating the adjacent segment of the GI wall at a targeted location. Activation of the GIC may include a number of automatically accomplished partial activations, such as when the time elapsed from the moment of setting the GIC on equals a predefined time delay; when the mechanical load applied onto the GIC exceeds, and/or gets lower than a respective predefined level of mechanical load; when the ambient pH reaches a predefined level, or changes, and/or a temperature associated with the user reaches a predefined threshold. 摘要： A patient warming and deep vein thrombosis system are provided. The system includes a first and a second compliant layer sealed together around an outer border to contain a warm liquid between the two layers and to form a wrap to surround and conform to a body portion of a patient. The wrap includes a plurality of flaps extends from opposite sides of a generally longitudinal central portion, such that one or more flaps from the opposite sides fasten to each other to surround the body portion. The flaps are openable during functional use to provide access to an underlying patient body surface. The system also includes a fluid control pump that directs the liquid through a continuous fluid flow path that extends between the two layers so as simultaneously to fill the wrap and apply pressure and heat to the body portion surrounded by the wrap.
