摘要： The invention relates to a breath test system that is unobtrusive in that it does not require a person subjected to the system to take any other action to breath. It comprises a sensor unit (5) configured to sense the presence or concentration of a volatile substance, present in air flowing through a predefined inlet area (4), and to generate a signal corresponding to the concentration of said substance. There is also provided an apparatus (2, 3) configured to detect the presence of a person at a position in the vicinity of said input area, and having means for registering said presence, and further configured to respond to said presence by delivering an output. This said apparatus includes a unit configured to call for immediate attention of said person, upon said registration of the presence of said person, and a unit configured to provide instructions to said person to direct an expiratory air flow towards said inlet area (4). An analyzer (10) for the determination of breath substance concentration of said person is also provided, the determination being based on said signal corresponding to the substance concentration.

摘要： An integrated airway adapter capable of monitoring any combination of respiratory flow, O2 concentration, and concentrations of one or more of CO2, N2O, and an anesthetic agent in real time, breath by breath. Respiratory flow may be monitored with differential pressure flow meters under diverse inlet conditions through improved sensor configurations which minimize phase lag and dead space within the airway. Molecular oxygen concentration may be monitored by way of luminescence quenching techniques. Infrared absorption techniques may be used to monitor one or more of CO2N2O, and anesthetic agents.

The apparatus has a gas sensor and is designed to pass a flow of sample gas through the water trap (2) and feed it to the gas sensor (3). The water trap (2) is designed to be disconnectably connected to the apparatus. The apparatus has a receiving means for connection to the water trap. The invention is characterised in that the water trap (2) has a radio-frequency marker (5). The apparatus has a radio-frequency sensing device (6) having a sensing range (7) for the radio-frequency marker, which radio-frequency sensing device (6) is designed to sense the radio-frequency marker in the sensing range and to generate a marker signal which represents an item of marker information relating to the radio-frequency marker. The handle includes a main body portion with a pressure opening and a pressure transducer therein.
