    • A branch pipe lining method is provided which utilizes a branch pipe liner bag (1) composed of a tubular resin-absorbent material (2) having a flange (3) formed at one end thereof, wherein the outer surface of the tubular resin-absorbent material is covered with a highly air-tight film (4), and the tubular resin-absorbent material is impregnated with an unhardened hardenable resin, and a cylindrical fluid pressure sealing member (5) is attached to the inner surface of the flange (3). A cylindrical front end nozzle (16) attached to an opening at one end of a pressure bag (13) is inserted into the fluid pressure sealing member (5) of the branch pipe liner bag (1), and the front end nozzle (16) and the fluid pressure sealing member (5) are sealed by an elastic member (17) interposed therebetween. Then, a pressurized fluid is supplied into the pressure bag (13), with the flange (3) of the branch pipe liner bag (1) being in close contact with an opening of a branch pipe (11), to evert and insert the branch pipe liner bag (1) into the branch pipe (11) from a main pipe (10) toward the ground. The hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag (1) is hardened with the inserted branch pipe liner bag being pressed onto an inner wall of the branch pipe (11), followed by pulling the front end nozzle (16) out from the fluid pressure sealing member (5) to tear the pressure bag (13) off the branch pipe liner bag (1).

    • A branch pipe lining method ensures a reliable air-tight connection between a branch pipe liner bag (4) and a fluid pressure sealing nozzle (7) with a simple structure so that the branch pipe liner bag can be inserted into a branch pipe (2) without fail. A branch pipe liner bag (4) impregnated with a hardenable resin and having a flange (4A) at one end thereof is used for the branch pipe repair. The flange of the branch pipe liner bag is folded out to be mounted to a fluid pressure sealing nozzle (7). A close contact between the flange and the fluid pressure sealing nozzle is held by vacuum pressure. The branch pipe liner bag is then everted and inserted from a main pipe (1) into a branch pipe (2) toward the ground by fluid pressure. The branch pipe liner bag is pressed onto the inner wall of the branch pipe by fluid pressure, and the hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is hardened while the bag itself is kept pressed onto the inner wall of the branch pipe. In this manner, since an air-tight connection between the branch pipe liner bag and the fluid pressure sealing nozzle can be reliably provided by vacuum pressure, a high sealability is ensured between them with a simple structure, whereby the branch pipe liner bag is reliably inserted into the branch pipe.

    • A method of inspecting a pipe liner bag is provided for efficiently and accurately performing in parallel inspections for a hardened condition and air-tight sealing effect of the pipe liner bag. A main pipe (1) and a branch pipe (2) are lined with hardened pipe liner bags (3, 4), and then all open ends of the pipe liner bags are air-tightly sealed by air plugs (5, 6, 7) to define an air-tight sealed space (S) within the pipe liner bags. Then, while the pressure within the sealed space is decreased, the inspections are made for a hardened condition and air-tight sealing effect of the pipe liner bag. If the pipe liner bag includes incompletely hardened portions, such portions will be deformed due to compression buckling, so that the deformed portions can be readily found by a TV camera (10) equipped with a light emitting unit. In this manner, a hardened condition of the pipe liner bag can be accurately inspected. Also, if the pipe liner bags do not provide a sufficient air-tight sealing effect, the inner pressure within the sealed space (S) will be increased, so that monitoring the inner pressure within the sealed space by a vacuum gauge (24) permits an inspection to be readily and accurately made for an air-tight sealing effect of the pipe liner bags.

    • A method and apparatus for lining a branch pipe (21) which can achieve an air-tight connection between a pressure bag (7) and a branch pipe liner bag (1) in a simple structure without employing a conventionally required sealed tube. An open end of the pressure bag (7) is attached to a set nozzle (11) made of a magnetic material coupled to a work robot (6) which is movably installed in a main pipe (20). A branch pipe liner bag (1), impregnated with a thermosetting resin, is placed inside the pressure bag (7); the liner bag having a flange (5) which includes a magnetic plate (16) so as to be magnetically connected to the set nozzle (11) by a magnetic force of a magnet (10) provided on the work robot. With the flange (5) being closely contacted to the inner wall of the main pipe (20) around a branch pipe opening (21a), compressed air is supplied into the pressure bag (7) to evert and insert the branch pipe liner bag (1) into a branch pipe (21). While the branch pipe liner bag is pressed against the inner wall of the branch pipe, the thermosetting resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is cured, whereby the inner wall of the branch pipe is lined with the cured thermosetting resin, i.e. the branch pipe is repaired. Upon completing the lining operation, the magnet (10) is turned off, the work robot (6) removed, and the pressure bag (7) removed from the branch pipe liner bag (1).

The holding member is closely contacted onto an inner wall of the main pipe to insert the protrusion into the branch pipe opening so that the device is secured within the main pipe. Subsequently, the main pipe is lined using a main pipe liner bag which is composed of a tubular resin absorbent material and an unhardened liquid hardenable resin impregnated in the tubular resin absorbent material. Then, the main pipe liner bag is cut along a mark substantially conformal to the branch pipe opening.
