摘要： A filter system and method are provided utilizing a filter tank (14) separated into an inlet compartment (17) and a filtrate compartment (18) by a filter media (22). Under normal filter operation, the liquid to be filtered enters the inlet compartment and is passed through the filter media and out the filtrate compartment by a pressure differential created across the filter media by a pump device (42). When the need arises to move the fitter media as a result of the build up of contaminants on it, it is necessary to alleviate the pressure differential across the filter media. Such pressure differential is alleviated by the controlled flowing of filtered liquid through an orifice (104) in a closed valve (52) into the filtrate compartment.

摘要： A pouring tank transfer assembly comprises support tracks (10, 12, 22, 24) for respective transfer cars (20, 28) adapted to mount pouring tanks (not shown) filled with molten metal which thus can be rolled from respective loading stations (14, 26) to a pouring station (16). The support tracks (10, 12, 22, 24) are of a double rail configuration and are at an acute angle to one another whose vertex is at the pouring station (16). A third, guide rail (18, 30) extends parallel to each set of tracks (10, 12, 22, 24). Each transfer car (20, 28) is equipped with flangeless wheels which roll along the transfer tracks, and has a support arm (52, 53) from which guide rollers extend. Such guide rollers contact the respective guide rail (18, 30) to provide lateral stability for each car (20, 28).

摘要： @ A filter device (10) for separating a foreign material-liquid mixture into distinct portions includes a holding tank (12). On a bottom of the tank is a permeable grid panel (28) formed with a series of elongated corrugations (32). The panel (28) connects with an impermeable inclined ramp (82) formed with corrugations of a like configuration. A conveying device (not shown) carried within the tank comprises a pair of spaced chain loops to which are connected a series of transversely positioned flights, each including a scraper plate having a corrugated edge which complementally mates with the corrugations (32) of the grid panel (28) and inclined ramp (82). As the liquid portion of the mixture flows through the grid panel, the foreign material is retained and collects to form a cake on the panel. Periodically the conveyor is activated and the scraper plates move over the grid panel corrugations (32) to remove the collected foreign material and move the foreign material up the inclined ramp (82) for disposition external of the tank.

摘要： A filtration system includes a deep-bed type filter (12) to receive an inflow of a waste water when the system is in a filtration mode. A distribution plenum (36) within the filter distributes the waste water to an upper and lower portion (52, 60) of the filter bed (56). As the waste water flows to conduits (58) centrally located within the bed, particulate in the waste water is entrapped by filter media comprising the bed (56). The waste waster is discharged from the system in a clarified condition. Periodically the system is placed in a rejuvenation mode wherein a series of circuits are used to remove the entrapped particulate from the filter bed so that the system may again be returned to its filtration mode to process additional waste water.
