    • A method of manufacturing a multi-layer pipe liner bag (10), wherein a guiding tube (3) is inserted into an outer layer (1) composed of a tubular resin absorbent material (1A) and a plastic film (1B) coated over the outer periphery of the tubular resin absorbent material; an inner layer (2) composed of another tubular resin absorbent material (2A) is inserted into the guiding tube, and the guiding tube is extracted with the outer layer and the inner layer being fixed; and the tubular resin absorbent resin absorbent materials of the outer layer and the inner layer are impregnated with thermosetting resin to complete the pipe liner bag. Since the outer layer and the inner layer are manufactured separately, the manufacturing of the respective layers can be performed with a good workability. Advantageously, the plastic film covering the outer surface of the outer layer can be prevented from scratches.

    • A method for manufacturing a liner bag (10) used for lining used underground pipes, comprising steps of (i) forming a long tube of a rectangular resin absorbent sheet (1), whose outer face is hermetically coated with a plastic film (2), with a long cavity along the entire length of its seam by attaching a reinforcer cover strip (3, 4) to the inner face of the resin absorbent sheet tube across the seam by welding only the lateral long side portions thereof; (ii) fixing a reinforcer strip (5) in the long cavity by welding it to the resin absorbent sheet (1) and the reinforcer cover strip (3, 4) in a manner such that the reinforcer strip (5) is trapped between the resin absorbent sheet and the reinforcer cover strip at a location underneath the seam; (iii) and then applying a first adhesive tape (6) to the surface of the plastic film (2) in a manner such as to cover up the entire length of the seam and a wider second adhesive tape (7) to the surface of the plastic film (2) over the first adhesive tape (6), the back of the first adhesive tape (6) having a releasing characteristic with respect to the adhesive element of the second adhesive tape (7); furthermore, in the case of a double-layer bag, the inner layer (8) is pleated at two diagonal positions.

    • A method is proposed for lining a branch pipe (2) from a main pipe (1), wherein a particular sealing mechanism is adopted in attaching the collar (4A) of a liner bag (4) onto the flange (7b) of a fluid pressure sealing nozzle (7). Stopper tacks (18) are embedded in the collar (4A) at appropriate locations, each of the stopper tacks having its bottom end exposed from the back face of the collar and connected with a string (19). The back face of the collar (4A) of the branch pipe liner bag (4) is faced with the upper face of the flange (7b) of the fluid pressure sealing nozzle (7), which further comprises a hollow cylindrical part (7a), the flange (7b) extending perpendicularly from the side of the cylindrical part (7a), and at least one endless sealant (16, 17) is laid on the upper face of the flange (7b). A string puller (11, 12, 13) provided in the flange (7b), and the strings (19) are engaged with the string puller, and the string puller (11, 12, 13) pulls the strings (19) so that the collar (4A) and the flange (7b) are moved toward each other until sufficient sealing effect is obtained.

    • A branch pipe lining method which can achieve an air-tight connection between a pressure bag (7) and a branch pipe liner bag (1) in a simple structure without employing a conventional sealed tube. An open end of the pressure bag (7) is attached to a set nozzle (10) coupled to a work robot (6) which is movably installed in a main pipe (20). A branch pipe liner bag (1), impregnated with a thermosetting resin, is placed inside the pressure bag (7), the liner bag having a flange (5) which is removably attached to the set nozzle (10) by fitting a protrusion (5a) formed on a surface of the flange into a concave groove (10c) formed in the set nozzle. With the flange (5) being closely contacted to the inner wall of the main pipe (20) around a branch pipe opening (21a), compressed air is supplied into the pressure bag (7) to evert and insert the branch pipe liner bag (1) into a branch pipe (21). While the branch pipe liner bag is pressed against the inner wall of the branch pipe, the thermosetting resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is cured, whereby the inner wall of the branch pipe is lined with the cured thermosetting resin, i.e. the branch pipe is repaired. Upon completing the lining operation, the protrusion (5a) is disengaged from the concave groove (10c), the work robot (6) removed and the pressure bag (7) removed from the branch pipe liner bag (1).

      preparing a tubular liner bag (4) by sewing a rectangular nonwoven resin-absorbent fabric (5) into a tubular shape with one end closed; attaching an impermeable plastic film over the external surface of this tubular liner bag; soaking the nonwoven resin-absorbent fabric with a hardenable fluid resin; everting the liner bag into the branch pipe until the eversion head (4b) of the liner bag is stopped by the inner wall of the main pipe; forcing the eversion head of the liner bag to turn downstream in the main pipe, thus allowing the liner bag to evert entirely; hardening the hardenable fluid resin while inflating the liner bag; and removing that portion of the liner bag which protrudes into the main pipe.
