    • A system and method for repairing defects in semiconductor wafers utilizing a repair tool including a device for applying energy to obliterate defects at locations on the wafer, the method being a graphical approach implementing a graphical user interface (GUI) comprising a pixel screen display and comprising the steps of: via the interface, identifying a wafer defect to repair and enclosing the defect within a polygonal repair outline drawn using a default line thickness; graphically adjusting the line thickness to modify the enclosed polygonal repair outline area; automatically detecting one or more areas within an interior region of the modified polygonal repair outline area; and, scanning the modified polygonal repair outline, and for each pixel location inside the one or more detected areas, applying energy to the wafer coordinated to the pixel location for repairing the defect, whereby the identification of said pixel location is accomplished using standard graphical tools with minimal operator intervention.

    • A system for forming a motion card from frames of video selected by a user from a sequence of video frames that have been previously recorded on a video tape incorporates a kiosk that contains a video tape player, a processor receives a sequence of video frames from the video tape player, a display is used to display a selected range of video frames received by the processor, and step-by-step interactive instructions for the user for enabling the user to select video frames from the displayed selected range of video frames for preview display is improved by enabling the processing and display of video frames as if they were formed on the motion card so as to provide a high degree of correspondence between the displayed motion card and the to be formed motion card. A printer and a laminator, located in the kiosk or in communication with the kiosk, are used to print the selected frames in an interleaving manner, on a card sheet and for laminating a lenticular sheet over the interleaved printing so as to provide a motion card that replicates the motion image previewed on the display.

    • An image recording apparatus includes an image forming device, a fixing device, a cooling device and a controller. The image forming device forms an image on a recording medium on the basis of an image signal generated by an image signal generating unit. The fixing device uses heat to fix the image formed on the recording medium, and the cooling device cools the inside of the apparatus. The controller selectively executes either a first economy mode in which the cooling device is activated and the fixing device is inactivated on the basis of a command from the image signal generating unit, or a second economy mode in which both the cooling device and the fixing device are inactivated.

    • A system and method for processing image data converts a pixel of image data having a first resolution to a plurality of subpixels, the plurality of subpixels representing a second resolution, the second resolution being higher than the first resolution. The plurality of subpixels are thresholded to generate a group of subpixel values for each pixel and a threshold error value. It is then determined if the group of subpixel values from the thresholding process produce a pattern containing an isolated subpixel. If the group of subpixel values from the thresholding process produce a pattern containing an isolated subpixel, the group of subpixel vales is modified to produce a pattern without an isolated subpixel. The modification process produces a subpixel error value which is compensated for localized error before being diffused to adjacent pixels.
