    • The invention relates to permanent magnet rotor brushless high performance servo motors and to the design and manufacture of such motors making efficient use of high energy product magnets having an energy product in excess of 20 MGOe. The interpole distance to the radial air gap is greater than 1.3 and the ratio of permanent magnet length to air gap length is in the range of from 0.5 to 2.0. The winding is arranged in the air gap and secured to the inner surface of the slotless back iron cylindrical stator shell by encapsulation in a resin having a flexural strength of at least 140 kg/em" at 250°C and high thermal conductivity and a coefficient of thermal expansion in the range of the other materials of the stator structure. The stator winding is formed on a cylindrical temporary support with reduced diameter on one side using preformed coils. The end turns at the end of the temporary support with reduced diameter flare inwardly, whereas the end turns at the other end flare outwardly. The support with the winding is inserted into the stator shell starting with the inwardly flared end turns and is withdrawn from the side of the stator shell with the outwardly flared end turns. The motor of the invention, compared to a servo motor of approximately the same physical dimensions, produces an increase of about 70% in continuous performance and with respect to intermit- tant performance an increase of 80% with only 30% increase of the permanent magnet material.

    • A coil for use in an ironless armature or brushless D.C. electric motor is a self supporting coil unit in which the coil form (11) remains an integral part of the wound coil. The complete coil (10) includes a plurality of individual coil sets which are arranged in skewed, longitudinal, side-by-side relation to one another, with the individual windings of each coil set extending sequentially along the inner and outer surfaces of the coil form and located in winding locating serrations (13) at opposite ends of the coil form. Preferably each coil set comprises pairs of inner and outer windings that are diametrically opposed to one another thereby to provide a pair of diametrically opposed coil elements which are connected in series. The coil may comprise a number of such coil sets adjacent one another around the coil form and connected in series aiding relationship. The coil form (11) is a thin, longitudinally extending, tubular member of a non-magnetic material providing coil winding and locating cutouts or serrations (13) on the ends thereof. Each serration provides a winding surface (14) for the turns of the coils, the surface being angularly offset to a plane arranged radially to the axis of the coil, and a positioning surface or shoulder (15) being angularly offset so that the last turn of one winding may lie in side-by-side relation to the first turn of the next winding.

    • The present invention concerns a stator for a large dynamo-electric motor with a ferromagnetic yoke (1) with an internal axis (25) and a recess (2) coaxial therewith in which a rotor (3) is rotatably arranged and a coil holder (4) surrounding the rotor (3) with a stator winding (5) of winding rods (10) is fitted, and also an appropriate coil holder (4) and a combined coil holder (4) and stator winding (5). According to the invention, the coil holder (4) is somewhat drum-shaped with a straight internal aperture (6) to take the rotor (3) and has an outer casing (8) extending along the internal aperture (6), whereby grooves (9) opening towards the outer casing (8) are made in the coil holder (4) in which the winding rods (10) may be fitted. Such a coil holder (4) makes it possible to fit the stator winding (5) in a particularly simple and economical manner and its electromagnetic properties may easily be optimised.

The stator plate packet (SB), which with its internal periphery, defines the stator bore for the machine rotor (R) that rotates with an air gap (60), is composed of a laminated screening packet (1) in the yoke region, having a roughly annular shape, of which the plate sections (1.0) are made of magnetic material, and of a tooth and groove system (200), arranged on the inner periphery of the screening packet, which at least in the vicinity of the bore region consists of non-magnetic material and is rigidly connected, at junction points (2.0) distributed around the inner periphery of the screening packet, with the latter. The winding bars (3.0) of the air gap winding (3) can be inserted into the bar-receiving grooves (sbl) and can be fixed in their inserted position by a holding system (400) which can be assembled via the stator bore and which presses the winding bars (3.0) against the base of the grooves (1.1). The holding system (400) is provided with a plurality of support rings (4), arranged in rows along the machine axis, which consist of elastically deformable, resilient material, which are distributed at least at one place on its periphery (4.0) and which by enlargement of the diameter can be set in their azimuthal pre-tension in order to produce a radial pre-tensioning force applied to the winding bars (3.0), said force being greater than the operating force, and are provided with a turnbuckle (7) to modify the diameter during their assembly and dismantling and in order to provide post-tensioning in the region of at least one of their parting lines (4.0).     • Micro motor provided with a stator and a rotor. The rotor contains a number of magnetic poles arranged about the rotor shaft. The micro motor further contains a connector for electrically connecting the stator with a power source.     • A stator construction for a permanent magnet rotor electrical machine (10) eliminates ferromagnetic teeth customarily used and incorporates a winding support (30) made of non-magnetizable, non-conductive material and having radially outwardly extending support fins (32) to support the stator windings (36). A cylindrical insulating layer (41) is interposed between the windings (36) and the flux collector (40).
