    • A joint (40) for joining a first metal sheet (10) to a second metal sheet (30) comprises a plurality of deformable projections (14) on an edge (12) of the first metal sheet (10). Each deformable projection (14) has an aperture (16) therethrough to form two sides (18,20) and a deformable head (22). The sides (18,20) have dogs (24,26). A plurality of slots (32) are provided through the second metal sheet (30). The deformable projections (14) extend through the slots (32) in the second metal sheet (30). The deformable projections (14) are deformed such that the head (22) of the deformable projection (14) expands the dogs (18,20) of the deformable projections (14) beyond the sides (34,36) of the slots (32) to prevent withdrawal of the deformable projections (14) from the slots (32) in the second ductile sheet (30).

    • A compact electrical connector can receive two different kinds of circuit cards, of the type that are thin and flat and have contact pads on an active face, such as a MICROSIM card and a MMC card. The connector includes a body (52) with an insulative frame (81) and two sets of contacts (84, 114) on the frame, with each set of the contacts having pad-engaging ends arranged in patterns corresponding to the patterns of contact pads on the two types of circuit cards. A card-holder unit (54) has first and second card-holding compartments lying in horizontal planes that are vertically spaced. The cards can be inserted into the compartments and the unit is then slid into the body until pads of the two cards engage the two sets of contacts on the body.

    • A contact capable of achieving the reduction of height in the direction of displacement, and of obtaining excellent contact pressure. A contact 10 comprises substantially a belt-like elastic contact member 20 having a terminal 21 at one end and a contact part 27 at the other end and substantially a belt-like elastic protection member 30 having a fixing part 31 at one end and a protecting part 37 at the other end and an accommodation hole 33 provided in the protection member 30 between the fixing part 31 and the protecting part 37, wherein the elastic contact member 20 is spaced from and disposed in parallel with the protection member 30 at a given interval while a tip end 29 of the contact part 27 of the elastic contact member 20 is positioned inside and in parallel with the protecting part 37. The accommodation hole 33 is formed such that a part of the elastic contact member 20 enters accommodation hole 33 as the elastic contact member 20 is elastically deformed. When another contact contacts the contact part 27 of the elastic contact member 20 of the contact 10, the elastic contact member 20 is moved downward-and displaced, and a part of the elastic contact member 20 near the contact part 27, for example, a flat part 25, an inclined face 26 and a tip end 29 enter the accommodation hole 33.

    • A combination DC/data bus assembly for power converter equipment racks includes a pair of side-by-side vertical DC bus bars forming a slot between them. Extruded insulating strips carrying data bus bars are mounted in the DC bus bars so that the data bus bars face each other across the slot. Channels are formed in the front faces of the DC bus bars.
