    • A light fixture assembly and installation structure capable of both hanging and suspended applications in which a desk lamp suspending rod is tightly fastened to the circumferential edge of a switch box, wherein a mounting block has extending from its lateral end a rectangular passage and the suspending rod has at its bottom end a rectangular insertion rod for fastening that matches the shape of the passage, thereby providing for the insertion and tight positioning of the suspending rod in the passage. The mounting block has situated at the inside of the switch box a platform, with a retainer hinged to each of its two sides and, furthermore, the free ends of the retainers normally project into the passage. Installed to the top surfaces of the retainers is a positioning spring fastened by means of a bolt and, furthermore, the positioning spring is normally in a compressed state. As such, since the suspending rod is inserted and tightly positioned in the passage of the switch box without fastening additional bolts and using the associated tools, the invention herein effectively achieves assembly and installation simplicity and convenience.

    • A universal ground clamp having a clamping strap having a series of holes to facilitate the installation of the clamp onto a wide range of structures of various shaped and sized cross-sections. A metal stud, through which the clamping strap is secured, includes a terminal portion adapted to accommodate and have secured therein a ground wire. In one form, a pair of curved plates supported upon the stud are used to form a tight clamping action of the strap about the structure to be grounded, without subjecting the strap to localized stresses or tearing, but permitting the strap to tightly encircle the structure. One of the curved plates is captivated on the strap with stops. In another form, projections extend from the strap at the hole through which the stud is inserted in order to allow the stud to be readily inserted into the hole and prevent the stud from being inadvertently separated from the strap.

    • This invention is a terminal or junction device for a low-voltage linear distribution system. A rectangular mounting plate has mounting ears at the corners thereof and stop posts extending rearwardly to locate and fasten the device against a wall stud. A flange extends forwardly from the mounting plate to surround the opening in the wall and provide bosses for fastening a system device to the terminal device. The invention may be installed in the roughing out phase of new construction. After the interior wall is installed and a system device is hooked up, screwing down the faceplate brings the terminal device into firm contact with the back of the wall for a secure, tight installation.

    • A terminal device for installing an access point for low voltage systems in newly constructed buildings. Low voltage systems typically employ coax cable, fiber optic cable, communications cables, or similar low voltage and wire. The device includes a rectangular mounting plate having an opening therein and a back side for facing a wall stud and a forward side for facing a subsequently installed wall. The plate includes a forward-extending lip surrounding the opening and perpendicular to the plate. The depth of the forward-extending lip is selected to be approximately equal to the thickness of the subsequently installed wall. Included on the back of the mounting plate is a wide rearward-extending flange including two integral bosses and a semi-circular ring. The rear side of the mounting plate and the outer surface of the wide flange join at a 90 degree angle to form a seat for flush fitting against a wall stud. The lip includes two integral bosses for accepting fasteners for securing a faceplate to the terminal device. The terminal device is installed by driving fasteners through the bosses of the wide flange and into a wall stud. The mounting plate is then securely fastened to a wall by tightened the faceplate fasteners. Low voltage wiring may then be routed through the semicircular ring for temporary storage or tied off to the ring to secure it thereto.
