    • A temperature-sensing polymer body comprising a polyamide composition prepared by compounding 100 parts by weight of a polyamide with 5.3-30 parts by weight of zinc iodide or a polyamide composition prepared by compounding a polyamide with an iodine compound and a metal oxide such as zinc oxide. The metal iodide compound increases remarkably the temperature dependency of the impedance by virtue of the ion carrier characteristic thereof and zinc oxide as the metal oxide functions as an iodide ion acceptor to thereby inhibit the formation of metal iodides on the surface of a metallic electrode. Furthermore zinc oxide serves to form zinc iodide and improve half-wave current flow stability, thus improving the thermal stability of the temperature-sensing polymer body for long and remarkably increasing the thermal stability as a temperature sensor or a heat-sensitive heater.

    • NTC temperature-sensing device and process for producing NTC temperature-sensing elements for NTC temperature-sensing devices made of ceramic foil. Said elements are designed to allow the ambient air or oxygen, added by electrolytic pumping, free access to the NTC resistor over a laminate compound canal that can be filled with porous material, while the NTC resistor itself is hermetically insulated from the measuirng gas. The device can be made from solid electrolyte foil conducting O ions and foils based on Al2O3. Particular features of these NTC temperature-sensing elements are: a characteristic curve of the NTC resistor which does not vary with the composition of the measuring gas; their durability, quick response, simple production technique and small dimensions (which make them particularly suited for mounting in very narrow casings), as well as the electrically insulated leads, which make the device free from external voltage.
