摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a homogeneous combustion type gasoline engine with excellent fuel consumption allowing lead-in of a large quantity of EGR gas. SOLUTION: EGR gas is led into a combustion chamber (cylinder) by using an external EGR mechanism or an internal EGR mechanism, and thereafter, the air-fuel mixture of the fresh air and the fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber from an air-fuel mixture injection valve to form an air-fuel mixture range near an ignition plug. After an air-intake valve is closed, operation parameter of the engine is controlled in response to the quantity of the fresh air supplied into the combustion chamber (cylinder). With this structure, homogeneous combustion by a large quantity of EGR becomes possible, and fuel consumption is improved as a result. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

摘要： A gasoline engine is provided which is capable of introducing a large amount of EGR gas for performing homogeneous combustion and thus offering a good fuel economy. An external EGR mechanism or an internal EGR mechanism is used to introduce an EGR gas into a combustion chamber (a cylinder). A mixture of fresh air and fuel is thereafter directly injected from a mixture injection valve into the combustion chamber, thereby forming a region of said mixture in an area near an ignition plug. In addition, engine operating parameters are controlled in accordance with the amount of fresh air supplied into the combustion chamber (cylinder) after an intake valve has been closed. This makes possible homogeneous combustion using a large amount of EGR, which eventually increases fuel economy.

In both hollow cylinders, an intermediate room (27) is formed. The peripheral walls of the hollow cylinders (25, 26), which delimit the intermediate room (27), are provided with a metal coating (28), preferably, platinum or palladium for dissipating the combustion heat by the reaction of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas, which acts on the inner hollow cylinder (25) in the hollow cylinders. The outer hollow cylinder (26) in the hollow cylinders includes: an inlet opening (29) for the supply of water; an outlet opening (30) for the discharge of oxyhydrogen gas; and a temperature sensor (31) for water-supply control.
