    • A scaffolding which, without being dismantled, can be reduced in height to one tenth of its operational height for storage and transportation. The scaffolding comprises platforms (1) with hinged uprights (4) that can be folded to a horizontal position beneath the platforms. Removable guard railings (10) provide bracing. In the storage or transport position, the hinged uprights, the guard railings and optionally the access ladders are housed within the respective platforms (no more than 20 centimetres thick). Said scaffolding can be erected very quickly by extending it using a crane or hoist and locking it in place, and used as a conventional scaffolding, especially a façade scaffolding for the external refurbishment of buildings.
