摘要： A yarn finish composition is disclosed for incorporation with synthetic organic polymer yarn or yarn products to render the same oil repellent and resistant to soiling. The composition comprises (a) a solution of a salt of dioctyl sulfosuc- einate, propylene glycol and water, and (b) a fluorochemical compound consisting of polycarboxybenzene esterified with certain partially fluorinated alcohols and with hydroxyl- containing organic radicals such as 2-hydroxyethyl, glyceryl, and chlorohydryl or bromohydryl.

摘要： A textile lubricant composition, characterised in that it comprises: (a) a compound of formula (I): X[AR]n wherein X is the residue of an active hydrogen-containing organic mono- or poly-amine or -amide, or ammonia, following removal of n hydrogen atoms; A is a random or block polyoxyalkylene residue comprising 6 to 160 alkylene oxide residues of 2 to 4 carbon atoms each; R is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl; and n is any integer, provided that each AR segment may be the same or different; with the proviso that, where X is the residue of an ethylenediamine or N,N,N',N'-tetrakis-[2-hydroxyalkyl]-ethylenediamine, the compound has a molecular weight of less than 10,000; and (b) at least one additive selected from an antistatic agent, a cohesion aid, an emulsifier and a secondary lubricant; and (c) optionally a corrosion inhibitor and/or an antioxidant; method of producing it, and process of lubricating textile yarn or fibre with it.

摘要： Surfactant compositions including end-capped hydrocarbyl polyalkoxylate and/or fatty acid polyalkoxylate and organopolysiloxane having one or more polyoxyalkylene side chains are good immediate and long term spreaders particularly on fibrous hydrophobic synthetic polymeric substrates such as spun-bonded, non-woven materials made e.g. form polyolefins, especially polypropylene, or PET. Particularly useful alkoxylates are of one of the formulae (Ia to Id): R O.(AO )n.R (Ia); R .CO2.(AO )n.R (Ib); R O.[EOi.POj].R (Ic); or R O.(AO )k.(AO )l.(AO )m.R (Id), where the various substituents and indices have defined meanings and useful silicones include those of the formula (II): R 3SiO.[R 2SiO]x.{(R Si[(O.R .(AO )m.R ]O}y.SiR 3, where the various substituents and indices have defined meanings. Usually the coating compositions will include specific active materials particularly lubricants especially alkoxylate lubricants. The compositions are water compatible (dispersible or soluble) and primarily biodegradable. The coated substrates find application as carpet backing and geotextiles. In carpet backing, the water compatibility of the compositions makes it possible to avoid tip frosting of carpet on subsequent dyeing.

摘要： An oil-in-water yam finish composition, a process for treating yam therewith and yam so treated are all disclosed. The finish composition may be applied as a spin finish and/or overfinish to the yam, preferably the latter. The nonaqueous portion of the composition comprises transesterified high oleic oil and high lauric oil; polyoxyalkylene castor oil, triglycerol monooleate and/or triglycerol dioleate; decaglycerol tetraoleate and/or decaglycerol pentaoleate; 4,4' butylidene-bis(6-tert-butyl-m-cresol); and an emulsion stabilizer selected from the group consisting of a salt of dialkyl sulfosuccinate neat wherein each alkyl group comprises 8 to 18 carbon atoms, a salt of dialkyl sulfosuccinate in solution or mixture wherein each alkyl group comprises 9 to 18 carbon atoms, and a mixture of a salt of dioctyl sulfosuccinate and a salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid.

摘要： A method of oxidatively degrading an olefinic polymer comprises oxidising the olefinic polymer in an inert solvent in the absence of molecular oxygen and in the presence of an oxidant mixture of at least one peroxide and at least one hydroperoxide, said oxidant mixture being present in an amount sufficient to effect molecular weight degradation and the mole ratio of peroxide to hydroperoxide being in the range from 3.2 to 1 to 0.4to 1, whereby an oxidised polymer product is obtained. The oxidised polymers produced by this method can be further reacted with a nitrogen-containing compound such as a polyalkylene polyamine. The oxidised polymer products are of value as viscosity index improvement agents when incorporated in lubricating oil compositions.
