    • An anti-lock brake system for a tri-axle wheeled vehicle equipped with wheel speed sensors and modulators for adjusting brake pressure. The modulators are actuated by a six-channel electronic control unit. The modulators associated with the front axle of the vehicle are individually actuated. The modulators associated with the two rear axles of the vehicle are side-by-side or axle modulators, each actuated jointly by respective end stages of the six channels. The electronic control unit detects whether the anti-lock brake system in which it is installed is a compatible anti-lock brake system. An error signal indicating improper installation is delivered.

    • A solenoid drive circuit is provided with an energization controller that controls the energization/de-energization of a coil and is disposed either between a power source and the coil or between the coil and ground. A diode allows electric current to flow toward the power source and is connected between the power source and ground while bypassing the coil. A switch is provided either between the power source and the diode or between the diode and ground. Therefore, it is possible to easily switch between a state in which the electric current flowing through the coil is gradually reduced and a state in which the electric current flowing through the coil is rapidly reduced by switching over between conduction and cutoff of the switch.

    • An anti-lock braking system includes a speed sensor and a central processing unit (nullCPUnull). The speed sensor includes a motion sensor, an integral processing unit (nullIPUnull), and a housing which surrounds the motion sensor and the IPU. The motion sensor produces an analog signal as a function of a movement of an object, and the IPU converts the analog signal to a digital signal within the speed sensor. The IPU of the speed sensor transmits the digital signal to the CPU as a function of the analog signal received from the motion sensor. The CPU achieves an anti-lock braking action of the object as a function of the digital signal received from the IPU of the speed sensor.
