    • The present invention provides a line pressure control device for a continuous transmission in an automotive vehicle, wherein a life of a belt is capable of being lengthened by avoiding a slip of the belt under any running conditions. The line pressure control device comprises a pressure control valve for generating a line oil pressure of an oil pressure line by controlling an output oil pressure of an oil pressure pump, the continuous transmission for changing a rotating speed of an internal combustion engine manipulated by the line oil pressure, a controlling process of a required line oil pressure for conveying an input torque of the continuous transmission from a throttle opening signal of the internal combustion engine, and an input and an output shaft rotating speeds of the continuous transmission, a memorizing process of the characteristics data of an output oil pressure for the oil pressure pump, a process of computing a possible output line oil pressure of the oil pressure pump from the characteristic data of the output oil pressure and the input shaft rotating speed and comparing the required line oil pressure with the possible output line oil pressure, and a control means for controlling a rotating speed and an output torque of the internal combustion engine, wherein the required line oil pressure is kept within the possible output line oil pressure.

    • An engine control apparatus waits to stop the engine of a hybrid vehicle until the vehicle is in a condition to be able to start moving properly. An engine control apparatus for a vehicle, having a continuously variable transmission, coupled to an engine which generates a drive force, for driving wheels, so that, when the vehicle is in a stop-event, to enable stopping or restarting of operation of the engine in response to specific driving conditions, comprising: a fuel supply cut device for stopping operation of the engine while continuing to cut supply of fuel to the engine, when the vehicle is in a deceleration event; a vehicle velocity detector for detecting a traveling velocity of the vehicle; and a deceleration detector for detecting deceleration of the vehicle, wherein the fuel supply cut device reverts from a fuel supply cut condition when a traveling velocity of the vehicle detected by the vehicle velocity detector is lower than a predetermined velocity and a deceleration detected by the deceleration detector is higher than a predetermined deceleration.

    • A vehicle speed control system is installed to a vehicle equipped with an engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The vehicle control system is comprised of a controller arranged to execute a vehicle speed control, to suspend the vehicle speed control when a throttle opening is increased to be greater than a target throttle opening for the vehicle speed control and to restart the suspended vehicle speed control when the throttle opening becomes smaller than the target throttle opening. Further, the controller is arranged to decrease the throttle opening and to execute a shift down of the CVT when the vehicle speed at the moment of restarting the vehicle speed control is greater than or equal to the target vehicle speed. Therefore, this vehicle speed control system can quickly and smoothly decelerate the vehicle without generating shift shocks when the vehicle speed control is restarted.

    • An apparatus for changing the transmission ratio of a continuously adjustable transmission as part of a cruise control system for motor vehicles, this part being provided with a controller (18) for the formation of a change value (ISOLL) for the transmission ratio as a function of the difference by which the actual value of the speed of travel (VIST) in overrun operation exceeds a stipulated value (VSCHRUB). An adding stage (20) is used for the formation of a desired value (ISOLL—F) for the transmission ratio from the change value (ISOLL) and the stored desired value (IVSCHUB) of the transmission ratio at the beginning of overrun operation, it being possible for this desired value (ISOLL—F) to be fed to a transmission-ratio controller for the transmission. As a result, a defined increase in vehicle speed leads to a similar change in the transmission ratio in each vehicle-speed range, and the transmission intervention is always ended exactly at the same transmission ratio at which it began. Moreover, decelerations by means of the cruise-controller operating lever are always reproducible down to a constant minimum value, irrespective of the particular vehicle-speed or engine-speed range.
