When activated, the accelerator 30 position defines a target speed and the speed controller 22 controls both the engine 34, via and engine control unit 36 and the brakes 14, 16, via a hydraulic brake control unit 20 so as to control the vehicle speed to the target speed. The acceleration of the vehicle is also controlled according to the difference between the present vehicle speed and the present target speed.

摘要： A control system sets a set maximum speed of a utility vehicle, below the capable maximum speed of the vehicle, and recalibrates speed output signals corresponding to the set maximum speed. The system includes a microcontroller and a user-operated vehicle speed actuator, signal-connected to the microcontroller. The speed actuator is calibrated to actuate speeds, via the microcontroller, in a range from a minimum speed to a maximum speed. A user-operated speed set activator is used in conjunction with a ground speed sensor to set the set maximum speed. The microcontroller records the new maximum speed of the vehicle, and recalibrates the pedal position according to the new maximum speed.

摘要： A cruise control has a throttle controller for maintaining the speed of a vehicle at a desired speed. The cruise control can operate in a conventional cruise mode and a fuel economy cruise mode. When in the fuel economy cruise mode, the throttle is held at a fixed position as the vehicle travels within a prescribed range of speeds from the desired speed. The throttle remains fixed until an exit condition occurs or acceleration/deceleration input is supplied at which point the cruise control provides throttle adjustment at less than normal rates.

The device can be applied especially to vehicles equipped with means for checking the distance and/or the speed of obstacles located in the path of the vehicle, the pace of these vehicles being regulated or controlled as a function of the information on distance and/or speed given by said means. More generally, it can be applied to any vehicles equipped means of automative cruise control.
