    • An implantable endocardial lead includes a first elongated tubular component of flexible resilient material with a first face and a first longitudinally extending channel forming a partial lumen in the first face, a similar second elongated tubular component with a second face opposite the first face and a second longitudinally extending channel forming a partial lumen in the second face, the first and second tubular components being integrated by contiguously uniting the first and second faces with the first and second partial lumina being in mutually overlying relationship forming a full lumen within the elongated lead body. Elastic or inelastic rings received in longitudinally spaced annular grooves provided in the outer peripheral surface of the elongated lead body bias together the first and second elongated tubular components. An elongated electrical conductor is received in the full lumen and an overlying sheath is in contiguous engagement with the peripheral outer surface.

    • A method and apparatus for alleviating or curing human afflictions, ailments and diseases holistically by application of magnetism. A north pole surface of a magnet is applied to a portion of the neck, about 48 square inches, of a person being treated, and is maintained in contact for a time period or periods in accordance with total flux applied for the afflictions or ailments being treated. The magnet is maintained in contact for a time period or periods sufficient to elicit holistic effect of alleviation or cure and to detect ailments and cure in progress or a balanced treatment point. Magnet is being configurated to accommodate the area being treated and having appropriate total flux.

    • A sensor arrangement, and a heart stimulator employing such a sensor arrangement, identify bending of an electrode lead. A lead which is implantable in a patient is subjected to bending due to movement of the surrounding tissue, and the lead has a deformation sensor therein which emits an electrical signal dependent on the magnitude and orientation of the bending. The deformation sensor can be formed by two parallel channels extending from the tip of the lead within an insulating sleeve of the lead which encloses a conductor element. The channels are filled with an electrically conductive fluid and are connected at their opposite ends to a resistance measuring unit. Bending of the lead causes the resistance of the fluid to change, which is measured by the resistance measuring unit. The channels can be disposed asymmetrically relative to a longitudinal axis of the lead, so that orientation of the bending can also be identified by comparing signals from the respective channels to each other.

    • A magnetic treatment device includes a fabric core embedded within an elastic body comprising an elastic material such as latex. Magnetic powder particles are embedded within the elastic layer and are magnetically oriented along predetermined flux lines. A first modified embodiment includes an elastic core with memory plastic and vinyl layers bonded thereto. The core and the vinyl layers have magnetic powder particles embedded therein. The magnetic flux lines can be oriented longitudinally and/or transversely with respect to the device. Other modified embodiments include mousepad and keyboard wrist support configurations. A magnetic treatment method includes the steps of embedding magnetic particles in an elastic base with a fabric core, magnetically orienting the particles and applying a strip formed by the method to a body part of a patient.
