    • A combination fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter apparatus (17) for vehicle fuel systems has a fuel supply tank (11) with a fuel pump (13) therein for pumping fuel to a fuel supply rail (20) having fuel injectors (21) attached thereto. A fuel filter (25) is operably disposed between an inlet supply tube (16) and a fluid outlet tube (18) for filtering impurities from fuel passing therethrough. A valve (30,53,50) in fluid communication with the inlet supply tube (16) is provided with a regulator for causing flow to be short circuited back into the fuel supply tank (11) when the pressure in the fluid outlet (18) exceeds a predetermined level. The valve (30,53,50) is biased to a closed position and will remain closed as long as the pressure on the clean side of the filter (25) is below the predetermined pressure whereby all of the fuel in the inlet supply tube (16) will pass through the filter (25).

    • A liquid filter (10) with a built-in pressure regulator (11) for fuel is proposed, wherein the pressure regulator (11) with its diaphragm (41) is built on the housing (12) on a component (18) on the front with at least one connection (19).
