    • A hair ornament includes a body having an engagement section to be in contact with hair of a user. The engagement section includes a row of plates arranged along a length direction of the body. Two of the row of plates adjacent to each other are connected by a connecting member having first and second ends. The first end of each connecting member is pivotably connected to one of two adjacent plates. The second end of each connecting member is pivotably connected to the other of the two adjacent plates. A spacing between two adjacent plates is adjustable by pivoting the two adjacent plates to adjust an overall length of the body in the length direction of the body.

    • A material positioning and securing apparatus and process is disclosed that is particularly useful in association with a device for spirally wrapping palletized units at a wrapping station with a stretchable netting material to form a secure package. A disposable elongated material engaging member, formed from reasonably stiff and yet deformable material, is placed adjacent one side of units on a pallet at the wrapping station with the material engaging member having protruding portions oriented to extend in a direction away from the surface of the units for engagement with the netting material as the netting material is wrapped around the units. A forming and feeder mechanism, receiving a continuous supply of the reasonably stiff material, forms the material engaging member into the desired configuration and shape, and then dispenses the thus formed member into the wrapping station where the formed member is severed from the continuous supply by the forming and feeder mechanism after the formed material at the wrapping station has been contacted by a plurality of wrapped layers of the netting material. A variably positionable net manipulation arm is utilized for holding the netting material in place against the units during the initial wrapping cycle of netting material about the palletized articles, with the arm being moved away from the wrapping station and clear of the wrapping process during subsequent wrapping cycles, except that, after the final wrapping cycle, the arm is again brought into engagement with the netting material to hold the netting material in a spaced relationship with respect to the units to enable a severing arm to sever inwardly of the arm that portion of the netting material not wrapped about the articles, so that the manipulation arm engages, and continues to engage, the netting material at the supply side of the netting material, the manipulation arm then being ready for use in wrapping units on the next pallet presented at the wrapping station.

    • A clamp device including a resilient lining and with the clamp including an elongated member having a loop portion, and a resilient lining formed by a strip of resilient material of a sufficient length to extend along the elongated member in the loop portion and of a sufficient width to extend across the elongated member in the loop portion. Also, rows of ones of the individual needle-like protruberences may have different heights relative to others of the individual needle-like protruberences.

    • A flexible material holding device comprising: an elastic band and a pair of clips secured to the ends of the band and adapted to engage and removably retain the ends of a flexible material cover for the purpose of removably retaining it in place on an object or objects on which it is mounted. Each of the clips comprises a pair of pivotably connected arms having gripping portions that are biased into engagement by a spring member. The gripping portion of each arm comprises a concave section which merges with a convex end section. The end of the gripping portion of one clip overlaps the end of the gripping portion of the other clip. The concave and convex sections of the one clip are adapted to engage the convex and concave sections, respectively, of the other clip so that flexible material inserted between the gripping portions of the clip arms is gripped in two places by each of the clips. The reverse curvature of the clip arms facilitates the insertion of the flexible material between the gripping portions thereof, prevents tearing of the flexible material retained therebetween, and increases the gripping ability of the clips.
