摘要： System and method for limiting an output signal of a differential amplifier. A preferred embodiment comprises a limit sense amplifier configured to detect when the output exceeds a permitted limit, a common mode bias current unit configured to increase a signal gain of a common mode amplifier in the differential operational amplifier when the limit sense amplifier detects that the output exceeded the permitted limit, and an output stage bias current unit configured to fix the output at a level substantially equal to the specified limit when the limit sense amplifier detects that the output exceeded the permitted limit. The clamping is achieved by changing the operation of circuitry within the differential amplifier and results in a smoother clamping that helps to maintain stable operation.

摘要： A gallium arsenide differential amplifier is compensated against temperature and process induced variations so as to provide phase and amplitude matched differential output signals centered about an internal GaAs reference voltage. Compensation of the amplifier is effected by one or more current sources which are adjustably responsive to the dynamic common mode level of the output signals. The resultant amplifier provides a high common mode rejection ratio and facilitates implementation of otherwise impracticable differential GaAs circuit topologies.

摘要： A HDR CTIA pixel which provides automatic gain selection, and spatial and temporal coherence. The pixel comprises an input node for connection to a photocurrent, and an output node. The pixel includes a CTIA which comprises a “high gain” integration capacitor and a first reset switch connected between the input and output nodes, a “low gain” integration capacitor connected between the input node and a first node, a second reset switch connected between the first node and the output node, and a first FET connected across the second reset switch. In operation, the first FET is off during the reset phase, and is conditionally turned on during or after the integration phase. The CTIA also includes an amplifier having an inverting input connected to the input node and an output connected to the output node. The pixel can be operated in “static low-gain control” and “dynamic low-gain control” modes.
