    • PURPOSE:To provide a desired polygonal line characteristic with a single arithmetic circuit connected with a series circuit and to remove influence caused by a change of power source voltage with a simple constiturion by connecting the series circuit comprising diodes and resistances between an input terminal and an operarional amplifier. CONSTITUTION:An input terminal 1, an outout terminal 2 and an operational amplifier 3 that determines output characteristics of an output signal between said terminals are prepared and a polygonal circuit is constituted by them. A negative feedback resistance Rf is connected between an output terminal of said amplifier 3 and an inversed input terminal -, and a reference resistance Rs is connected between an inversed terminal + and the first power souce terminal 5. Further, between the input terminal - and the input terminal 1, and circuit comprising resistances P1-R3 in parallel to a resistance R0 and diodes D1-D3 in series to the resistance R0 are connected. Still more, the second power source terminal 4 is connected to a connection point among the resistances R1-R3 and the diodes D1-D3, via resistances r1-r3. And voltages VQ and VP that are supplied to the first and the second power source terminals 5 and 4 are made to satisfy a linear dependent relation, thereby the desired polygonal characteristic is determined by the amplifiers.

    • A polygonal-line characteristic amplifier has a minimum-voltage discrimination circuit (40;60), a maximum-voltage discrimination circuit (50) and a resistor dividing circuit (R1,R2;R3,R4). The minimum-voltage discrimination circuit detects and outputs a lower one of an input voltage (V IN ) and a predetermined reference voltage (V REF ) respectively applied to two non-inverting input terminals thereof. The maximum-voltage discrimination circuit detects and outputs a higher one of an output (V O(MIN) ) from the minimum-voltage discrimination circuit and a resistor divided voltage of the input voltage produced by the resistor dividing circuit respectively inputted to two non-inverting input terminals thereof. The maximum-voltage discrimination circuit outputs at its output terminal (30) an output voltage (V OUT ) having polygonal-line characteristics corresponding to the input signal applied to a signal input terminal (10). Since the voltage gain of the amplifier is low when the level of the input signal is high, the output voltage does not exceed its maximum value to thereby make a dynamic range large against the input level.
