    • An auxiliary heater for motor vehicles having a burner assembly for liquid fuels is provided with an electric motor whose shaft is coupled to a drive shaft for auxiliary assemblies, such as a combustion air blower, a fuel pump, a rotational atomizer, or the like, with the drive shaft being mounted at its distal end with respect to the motor and the proximal end of the drive shaft is connected to the motor shaft by way of a flexible elastic coupling. In a preferred embodiment, the combustion air blower is disposed between the motor and the fuel pump and has a hub of flexible elastic material which serves as the coupling element between the motor shaft and the drive shaft. According to a further disclosed feature, the drive shaft extends through the radial bearing and supports a rotational atomizer head at its distal end.

    • A liquid fuel burner system and a liquid fuel supply unit (101) for the liquid fuel burner (106) of the system are disclosed. The supply unit (101) comprises a liquid fuel feed pump (102), a compressor (104 and preferably also a motor (30) mounted on a common drive shaft (3). The system further comprises a modulatable liquid fuel metering device (103). The liquid fuel feed pump (102) is connectable to a liquid fuel conduit from a liquid fuel source, such as an oil tank. An outlet of the feed pump (102) is connected to an inlet of the liquid fuel metering device (103), which in turn is connectable to an atomizing nozzle (105) of the liquid fuel burner (106).

    • In a vehicle heating appliance, a burner is supplied with combustion air by a combustion air fan and with fuel by a fuel dosing pump. The heat generated by the burner in a combustion chamber is absorbed by a liquid or gaseous heat transfer medium through a heat exchanger that surrounds the combustion chamber and is transferred to the areas to be heated. In order to avoid malfunctions of the fuel dosing pump caused by steam bubbles produced by overheating, the fuel dosing pump must be kept cool. To ensure an efficient cooling of the fuel dosing pump, the fuel dosing pump is mounted in a compact manner in a suction channel (8) of the combustion air fan (1). When the vehicle heating appliance is in operation, combustion air flows past the outer surface of the fuel dosing pump (14) and cools the pump before being led to the inlet side of the combustion air fan (1, 4).
