    • A beverage dispenser includes a cylinder having a pair of chambers, one for dispensing water and the other for dispensing a syrup. A separate piston is in each chamber and the pistons are connected to operate in unison. The water dispensing chamber is connected at one side of its piston to a source of drinking water and to a dispensing nozzle, and is connected at the other side of its piston to an operating medium, such as a liquid or gas under pressure. The syrup dispensing chamber is connected to a source of syrup and to a dispensing nozzle. The operating medium enters the first chamber to move the pistons and force water and syrup from their respective chambers to the dispensing nozzles where they are dispensed into and mixed together in a drinking container. The cylinder includes means for returning the pistons to their initial positions and causing water and syrup to refill the chambers. The dispenser may include a carbonator for mixing the water with carbon dioxide gas, which can also be the operating medium, to form carbonated water.

    • An apparatus for providing water and syrup in a predetermined ratio to a beverage dispenser comprises a housing, a source of syrup in a flexible container and a source of water under pressure. A proportioning pump in fluid communication with the syrup source and the water source is provided for receiving syrup and water and for discharging the syrup and water in a predetermined ratio. A water valve, movable between an open and a closed condition, is connected between the water source and the proportioning pump for controlling the flow of water to the pump. The water valve is normally closed, but is opened upon activation of the beverage dispenser, permitting water to flow from the water source to the proportioning pump. Upon receiving the water, the proportioning pump draws syrup from the syrup source and discharges the water and syrup in a predetermined ratio to the beverage dispenser. a vacuum switch, including a sensor, is connected between the syrup container and the proportoning pump. The sensor senses the presence of vacuum in the syrup container, indicating that the syrup in the container has been depleted below a predetermined syrup limit. When the vacuum sensed exceeds a predetermined vacuum limit, the water valve is disabled to prevent water from flowing to the proportioning pump.

    • A dosing device with which several, preferably two, liquids can be measured and dispensed in precise quantities. In this dosing device, two bottle-top dispensers with integrated suction valves, discharge valves and a bottle-top mechanism are attached in a housing. A liquid-reservoir bottle can be affixed to the bottle-top mechanism of each bottle-top dispenser. In particular, affixing of the respectively associated reservoir bottles is ensured without confusion. Activation of the pistons of the bottle-top dispensers takes place with working strokes which differ depending on the spacing. In addition, the housing comprises a blow-out device by means of which, after each dispensing procedure, the discharge device for the liquids can be blown out and cleared of any liquid residues.
