    • Provided is a captured seal assembly that can be positioned between a first surface and a second surface of a structure or vehicle, such as an aircraft. The captured seal assembly includes a geometric-shaped seal such as a bulb-shaped seal that can be secured to an outer perimeter of the first surface and a receiving land capture that can be secured to an outer perimeter of the second surface. The geometric-shaped seal is designed to engage with the receiving land capture, and join the first surface and second surface when the geometric-shaped seal is engaged with the receiving land capture. In addition, the seal assembly can maintain a differential in pressure between a first region adjacent to the first surface and a second region adjacent to the second surface.

    • A method and resultant apparatus for a window seal assembly is shown and described. A thin layer of elastomer is introduced between a reinforcement member and a first surface of a window member. The subassembly of the glass member, elastomer, and rigid reinforcement is then introduced into a mold. Preferably, the thin layer of elastomer is provided by an extrusion process, such as on a metal reinforcement member, or as a co-extrusion process when an extruded reinforcement member is formed. A curable, elastomer/plastomer material is then injection molded to provide a flush glass appearance where an outer surface of the window is devoid of any seal material.

    • A weather strip includes an attachment base (10) and a hollow seal portion (30).     • The seal comprises a first portion mounted to at least a part of the inner peripheral edge of the window opening. The first portion includes a flexible body, a first magnetic element received in the flexible body, and a flexible sealing member. A second portion is mounted to at least a part of the outer peripheral edge of the window in a position to face the first portion and to contact the flexible sealing member when the window is closed. The second portion includes a casing member, and a second magnetic element received in the casing member. Flocking is connected to at least one of the first and second portions. The flocking is positioned between the contacting area of said first and second portions when said window is closed. The flocking reduces friction between the first and second portions to facilitate sliding of the window. At least one of the first and second magnetic elements is a permanent magnet.
